Rivian App Issue - "Couldn't turn on" Climate Controls from the app. Anyone else??

Today before I went out to my car the leave for home, I tried to turn on the climate controls to cool it off. I kept getting the message from my phone (and my wife's phone) that it "Couldn't turn on. Something went wrong. Please try again."

I received this same message when I tried to update the vehicle when it was parked (and yes, I did ensure that it was not plugged into a DC charger and had the appropriate level of charge).

Anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix it? Thank you!

Has it worked the other times you’ve tried or are these the only 2 times you’ve tried to use the cloud connectivity?

Since it happened with both phones it makes me think it might be having trouble connecting to your Rivian. I would try a software reset, close out both apps then try again. If that doesn’t work try the vehicle reset.

I’ve had the same issue. Also can’t unlock the car or open the windows unless I’m standing next to it. My experience is that the app is quite glitchy.

This happened to me yesterday too, and only then, so I assume it was a Rivian issue. It was fixed when I used it late in the day, around 10 I think.

I did not drive it this weekend, but I will try both of these this week. I did manually begin the update from inside the car because I was also unable to get the car to respond doing that from that app, too.

I’ve done the reset multiple times and tried to use the app controls for the car, and they all result in an error. I even tried to end a charging session, which was rejected.

I can see realtime the vehicle, status, etc. I juzt cannot make changes.

Is there a Rivian customer service number to help troubleshoot?

Still having the issue. Can someone please confirm if on their Keys menu their phones show there?

One of my profiles has the two keycards and the other has a phone set up option. On the iOS app, it shows ours phones. Wondering if this might be the issue.

I’ve been having the same issue. My Rivian has been in the shop for over 30 days and they cannot seem to figure it out. What a mess!

I resolved the issue, all you have to do is delete your phone as a key from the Rivian app. And add it back again

This was my solution, too. Wish I had done it sooner. Was too concerned I was going to mess something else up. No clue why it all of the sudden stopped working, but has been ever since.

I had this issue just a few days ago... This is what I did to fix it.

In the app, I deleted my phone as a phone key.
Closed the app
Reopened the app
The app asked if I would like to add my phone as a key
Followed the on-screen procedure

Done. No further problems.

I had this issue just a few days ago... This is what I did to fix it.

In the app, I deleted my phone as a phone key.
Closed the app
Reopened the app
The app asked if I would like to add my phone as a key
Followed the on-screen procedure

Done. No further problems.
I did that, and it worked for a week. On a chilly night, coming from a restaurant, I wanted to warm up the car because my wife and kids WOULD complain if it was cold in the car. Sure enough, I got the message in the app saying, "F you man, let your five have fun."
Next day, like a well-trained monkey I followed the reset process to make it work, for another week? The Rivian's customer service response time is,... it's impossible to describe it without cursing. This seems to be a common and recurring problem and there is no word from Rivian customer service, ticket has been submitted over a month ago.

Hey, but did you all find the eerie spectacle of flickering lights and the unsettling groan of the locking doors to be a captivating experience in the previous software update? Marvelous!
