Reinforced body shield necessary if not offroading often?

I’m not an expert but I wouldn’t. The underbody shield is clearly for some serious rock crawling.

I think it’s more of an option offered to that segment that will truly push the vehicle to its limits and cement the Rivian as the king of the mountain 🏔😄

The Rivian (like all Teslas) already has amble underbody protection for aerodynamics and to protect the battery from road debris.

Not to mention the added weight will have an effect on range.
