Per Emme's first drive review from last year, they bent a rear control link.
Attacking some whoops a little too fast results in me bending a rear control link

Which she has also said they planned to strengthen.

My point was the failure last year was completely unrelated to the problem experienced yesterday.

I know. Just giving people some context that didn't know the full story.

Hearing that it was a different part last year is comforting, also that they planned to strengthen it.

This type of mostly unscripted “testing” by people outside the company is hugely valuable, and can provide insights that would take years otherwise.

i would love to see Rivian competing in autocross or other track events as well. People will find stresses and duty cycles that likely weren’t anticipated

Back at the start line, suspension from slow pulling up looks settled and not as bumpy as yesterday.

They mentioned today that the part that got damaged was preproduction. Today they replaced it with a production part. At least that's what the commentator said @min17

Even though they had a setback yesterday, looks like they're still hanging in the top 5. Staying in contention! They are on track to contend for the day 3 total in their group.

Checking just now shows them in 3rd place with 660 points (72% of theoretically possible)

First place is at 688 points (75%)

They appear to be closing the gap a bit…

Are there film crews following any of the vehicles? I'd love to see the Rivian in action.

End of the day. Still respectable at fourth, but the leaders may be pulling away.

What conclusions can one draw from this about the R1T and/or hybrid/electric off-roading?
