I wonder if those are also used as the puddle lights with the Rivian logo that we've seen?
I'm thinking the blue circled one is the puddle light? I dunno.

The Puddle lights have been shown illuminating the ground in other photos, and makes sense it would be housed in the mirror rather than a thin door handle and I also agree that its the blue hole

Another option is a camera that facilitates the 360 view. On my old Infiniti FX35, which was the first time I'd ever seen the 360 view, that's where the side cameras were located. The Puddle lights have been shown illuminating the ground in other photos, and makes sense it would be housed in the mirror rather than a thin door handle and I also agree that its the blue hole
Usually puddle lights are in the doors afaik.
The camera for that area I believe is located in the front fender between the door and front tiresAnother option is a camera that facilitates the 360 view. On my old Infiniti FX35, which was the first time I'd ever seen the 360 view, that's where the side cameras were located.
Neat! I was looking for that pic but then got sidedtracked haha.
Looks to be in the mirror based on this image.
There is also what appears to be a camera in the mirror housing just to the left of the area circled in blue by @DaveA. The area circled in blue appears recessed which probably wouldn't work well for a camera.Another option is a camera that facilitates the 360 view. Good catch - I see it now. There is also what appears to be a camera in the mirror housing just to the left of the area circled in blue by @DaveA. The area circled in blue appears recessed which probably wouldn't work well for a camera.
I was looking for a different one that was in the snow (I thought it was from the Cold Weather Testing story) but I couldn't find it. Found this one (originally posted to this forum) through Bing!Neat! I was looking for that pic but then got sidedtracked haha.
Haha, I love those books! Famous last words ”Hey y”all watch this!”If that is what we heard, it is likely something the Consumer Product Safety Commission, or some likeminded anti-fun group has mandated. It’s not unlike the requirement for all new EVs to make noise below a certain speed. It may seem like a good idea, but if we’re to believe science, natural selection is a good thing. It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature!
I love reading the annual Darwin Awards!
You can see the camera closer to where the mirror is attached to the door.Another option is a camera that facilitates the 360 view. On my old Infiniti FX35, which was the first time I'd ever seen the 360 view, that's where the side cameras were located.
in my observations, it's getting out that's the issue.Given all the electronics they are packing into that mirror, I’m guessing that replacing one will cost about as much as a Tesla door handle (ie, > $1,000). Be careful backing into the garage folks!
