Gear Guard Guy seems to be official, hmm? Initially, I'd thought it was just a placeholder but... it doesn't seem like they'd go through the trouble of making a custom animation as a throwaway.
It's comical but also seems somewhat out of place to me.
It's the only design feature I've seen that doesn't seem to fit their image. Maybe RJ lost a bet with one of his kids and now they have to include their drawing? ?

I wholeheartedly disagree. I think it fits in perfectly with their image, and I absolutely LOVE it. It seems incredibly on-brand for Rivian to design thoughtful features that incorporate joy and playfulness.
