I got a message back from Customer Service regarding the winch. This is great news. I figured they would, but glad to hear it from CS.

"our vehicles will come winch-ready! All necessary structures and supports for installation will be available."
Hopefully it includes a high amp wiring harness to the mount location. Running those fat cables up to the 12v battery can be a hassle. But I don’t think we even know where the 12v is located do we?

LadIver,

This is excellent news! WARN Industries is a local company and I've been reading much about their WARN Zeon series for awhile (with "Werewolves of London" going through my head every time. Go figure!). Provided the fit would be OK, what is everyone thinking about putting underneath the front bumper, in the way of a winch?

Also, kudos to all for no "front rack" or nice "protruding rear-end" or "wise-crack" comments to date (yeah, other than one ass joke).

Did anyone notice that R1S has what looks like a regular plate on it and not the Mfg plates we have been seeing?

Those crossed your mind? I'm obviously not creative enough.

I did notice that. I'm guessing the little 'M' in the center means it is also a Mfg plate. But I cannot tell for what state.

I'm hoping for no 12v battery, instead some type of dc-dc converter. This would eliminate a heavy, toxic, wear item, prone to premature failure that is a relic of a time when we kept our cars filled with highly flammable gas which was explosively burned in a combustion chamber.
a converter could be problematic for people wanting to piggy back additional 12v automotive accessories onto said relic however. I'm sure we have the brain power to overcome this.

Either those plates are expired or this is a super old picture. Or Michigan does not require yearly year stickers....
The R1S does have a current Michigan manufacturers plate on it. The close-up was just an example of an older plate.

It'll have 12v wired to the frunk, so split off that, yeah?
