True enough. That's a good idea. Not using exact addresses, that's roughly 250 miles.
Would take longer, but you could swing through Augusta and hit the RAN there if you were concerned about going "direct"

Yeah, I thought that was a strange omission too. I'm really glad for that one because charging in Western NC and East TN around the Smokies is really inconvenient otherwise. Unless you're traveling on I-75 to and from, which we strongly prefer to avoid -- both because that's actually slower for us vs. US highways through NE GA and Western NC and because it's far less scenic and enjoyable a drive.I've been planning a trip over the Blue Ridge Parkway in late October for a few months now. I've been tracking the status of all these RAN chargers mentioned in the story for months hoping they would be online in time for our trip (which they are now). I'm a bit confused on why this story didn't include the Whittier RAN (Cherokee) which is at the Southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. For our trip after we hit the Whittier charger we are progressing to part of the Georgia Traverse and then on to Chattanooga and then Nashville. The Whittier charger was the most critical one needed for our trip due to the remote location.
9/15/23 Update: The Groveland location foundation appears just about done.Drove through Groveland CA today after visiting Yosemite. It looks like work on the RAN in Groveland is underway with demo almost done.

I was wondering if that's the parking lot it was going to get put in. There's not many places that don't get completely filled up during tourist season.Mackinaw City RAN is showing up as live in the Rivian.com map, but not in the app yet.

Probably the best spot in the whole city for it IMO. At least without making a new parking lot just for the chargers.Looks like it's right by a trail and large shopping center. ICE'ing is going to be a problem?
