Just don’t drive it into VirginiaBest way would be a fuse run thru trim. I'll be doing it first thing along with tint but I'm sure someone else will do it sooner.
I'm in the DMV I run with it on always as I have a stealth model, the whole body is made of magnesium alloy.Just don’t drive it into Virginia
It's a ticket if you're caught having it in the vehicle powered on. I have a few friends who've gotten them. Mostly from out of state.I'm in the DMV I run with it on always as I have a stealth model, the whole body is made of magnesium alloy.
Oh yes, Virginia is for lovers...not detectors! I remember driving back and forth from college and seeing those signsJust don’t drive it into Virginia
Booo. Hopefully someone figures something out. I have zero desire to rely on a sticky cup.I checked with blendmount to see if they were working on a Rivian specific mount for a V1.
Are you sure the 12v under the dash is ignition on I ran a 12v cigarette plug with a led on it and it remained on even when the car is locked.I ran it to the 12v under the dash. I didn't want to overload the circuit for the mirror, Plus the techs at Rivian said they are working on a dash cam app for an over the air update in the future.
Yes it does shut off, just not when you lock it. You have to wait for the truck to go to sleep, then it will shut down. Are you sure the 12v under the dash is ignition on I ran a 12v cigarette plug with a led on it and it remained on even when the car is locked.
So your camera stays on until it goes to sleep? Is there any battery drain from doing that ?Yes it does shut off, just not when you lock it. You have to wait for the truck to go to sleep, then it will shut down.
My radar detector stays on until the truck goes to sleep which is within a minute or so of walking away.So your camera stays on until it goes to sleep? Is there any battery drain from doing that ?
You have a giant 135kw battery that can run the dashcam for like 10 years before draining. LolSo your camera stays on until it goes to sleep? Is there any battery drain from doing that ?
Hmm r u sure the 12v is running off the 135kw battery and not the regular standard car battery… to power accessories. You have a giant 135kw battery that can run the dashcam for like 10 years before draining. Lol
I had my dashcam running 24x7 in my Tesla, never an issue. The cameras uses very little power and the few minutes that it stays on until the truck goes to sleep is nothing.
Stupid question. how do you pull off the plastic cover? I tried its really on there. Do I have to really pull and pry tool it?I have!!See attached photos
