R2 Towing / Payload Capacity?

Not sure if I missed this or not, but has there been any mention of the R2 towing / payload capacity? I'm keeping the R1T so I can pretty much tow anything I'd be interested in towing, but it'd be nice to be able to have another option as well if it's capable.

It was not covered, there are a lot of details like that they did not cover. May still be finalizing them or may be holding out to provide more information over the next 2 years to keep interest.

With the size and weight (large enough battery pack to get 300+mi range) I'd guess at least 5,000 lbs towing capacity. R3 might be 4K lbs though.

I would tend to agree with @NY_Rob with the 5000lbs for the R2 but my guess would be 3-3.5K for the R3.
i will be a early order holder for the R3X, when the time comes.

It has accessory receivers for their bike rack so there could be a 2" receiver hidden under the panel as well. It may be a uni body design because the R3 is a scaled down version so hard to say what it will be able to tow.

I agree at least 5000, the R2 has a wheelbase 1 inch longer than my Jeep Grand Cherokee had and it had a max towing of 7200 lbs.

Bike rack is actually two separate things that slot in under the bumper, not part of the hitch.

RJ said the battery pack is integral to the vehicle(no independent frame), so I expect the towing ratings to be bad.

Neither of those vehicles are depending on the battery pack for structural rigidity.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't even have an integrated hitch or if it's optional as an aftermarket add-on..
I doubt they could get away with this, for people’s current hitch accessories/racks if nothing else.

With the accessory cross member there should be something. I think the prototype just has a panel back there for now to make it look nice. Cayenne/toureg, Macan/q5, Dodge Vans, Highlander, X5, ml, new rovers come to mind as unibody vehicles that can tow between 3500-6500.
