It is an equivalent. Magneride uses a magnetic field to vary the viscosity of fluid traveling through a fixed orifice. CVSAe uses a variable orifice to adjust flow to effect the level of dampening.I am thinking those are more along the lines of Magnaride, or a equivalent to it.
I would consider Magneride to be slightly superior as it is constructed from solid state components while CVSAe has a solenoid controlling the variable orifice.
