That’s not what they are shooting for. If you want that, then it’s R1
I expect the R2 to punch significantly above its weight class for interior storage/volume. Between the frunk, the lack of a transmission hump and gas tank, the shape, and the roll down back glass I think the R2 will have quite a bit more cargo capacity than other vehicles with similar dimensions.

The R1 is the length and width of a full size Landcruiser (80, 100, 200 series)
4Runner GX Prado FJC is smaller (90, 120, 150 and maybe 250 series)

It is almost identical in size to the Ford escape just 3 inches longer. It has significantly more ground clearance than almost anything I have looked at in this size range. I am impressed they got that much ground clearance from smaller SUV like this. That is 2 inches more than what I was hoping for when they put it out.

Need to add the Ford Mach-E to this dimension comparison list as it is another competitor to the R2. I myself and a few other are pondering over R2 or Mach-E.

Anyone hear anything about R2 towing capacity?

From it's dimensions, expected HP and tire size I'm hoping it will be 5,000 lbs or possibly greater.

I drove a Mach E as a loaner. It's very car like. Very bouncy stiff suspension and won't be going anywhere near a trail. However it's otherwise well built. Zero squeaks and rattles. Lots of features and drives decent. I'd swap the shocks to Koni Special Active or something more sophisticated.
