This has been bugging me since day one. Noticed it right away on delivery day but I've yet to find another R1T to see if it's just me or how they all are.

Is my rear window shelf plastic warped or is the part just super cheapness and this is how they all are?

Wow, I never even noticed this shelf before! But yes, mine is similarly warped. How disappointing.

Seeing this got me inspecting the truck a lot closer, and I found a few other flaws. The gasket along the driver and passenger door, on the body side, weren't evenly pushed in. I fixed that myself, just annoying. Then I noticed the "recycled microfiber" headliner on the rear passenger side wasn't tucked under the gasket correctly. It reminded me of a sagging cloth liner on my 2000 Rover šŸ˜¬

Just looked at mine and it appears pretty flat. No bowing, but it does flex if pressed.

Same issue on my truck, noted at delivery, was told that just how they are and if a better part comes available they will replace it.

It was like that on mine and is like that on the loaner too...I think the entire piece is a hair too long on both sides causing this bowing/flexing.

wonder how hard it is to take out. potentially a little filing and it might be fine

Yeah, possibly....it could also have a lip screwed in behind top of seat and is not flush causing the flexing? Haven't look at it close enough.

Wish I hadn't seen this thread. Looked at mine and it's bowed as well. Never noticed it!

Now y'all know what Tesla owners such as myself have been noticing on our brand new Teslas, regardless of model year, for years; build quality. This is nothing new. By the way, I've noticed similar quality issues with many late model vehicles that were built post pandemic...

Iā€™ve owned a couple of BMW motorcycles and whenever I would bring up something at service time ā€œSir, they all do thatā€

From the Service Managerā€™s book of excuses. Excuse number 1 through 100

It looks like there should be retainer clips at those locations. Itā€™s either a poor design that didnā€™t include clips there, or a proper design and improper installation. (Ie, someone snapped the clips on installation)

yes, rare to find a service person who is focused on getting it right per spec vs. Getting you to go away.
