Rivian R1T R1S R1T report- SF Bay area to Henderson, NV - 537 miles, 67 mph avg, HOT - 2.05 mi/kWh IMG_9262.JPG

Two charge stops planned - First was fine but had problems with EA chargers in Barstow, Baker and Henderson.

Sound system was great. Vented seats help a lot in 117 degree heat. Didn't notice any issues with heat thru the glass roof. Drive+ was annoying, turned it off after 20 min. Sitting up higher was super nice compared to doing this trip in my now sold Model 3 last month. Seats are awesome (6' 190lbs)

- Loving it to this point. Off to Tucson on Monday so more heat and distance testing.

Seems like pretty reasonable mileage, considering the average speed. Interesting that you didnā€™t notice any heat from the roof. Some do, some donā€™t. Hmmm.

I have driven in the high 80s and the roof was a non issue. the windshield and driver side window on the other hand . . .

Any long up hill stretches? Efficiency looks good considering

Net incline, your efficiency will be better going back. We had 1.9 going western WA to ID/MT and 2.3 headed back.

Can you give detail on the EA chargers in Barstow & Baker? Making a trip out there in the future and would be interested to know the issues. Thank you in advance. Great post too!

Thank you for the detailed post! Do you recall what you had the cabin temperature set to?

Thank you for taking the time to document your journey. I will be taking roughly the same route (hopefully sooooon) but starting in Oregon, then through the Bay Area and on down to Tucson. Perhaps a side trip to Santa Barbara if time and timing allows.

I don't mind being a trailblazer, but realize the value of following in the footsteps of those that were there before you.

Iā€™m currently in Tucson moving my daughter since sheā€™s graduated. Luckily everything fits in the truck. Was worried about the vacuum cleaner but the Gear tunnel came to the rescue!!

Good charge spots at the Outlet Malls.

Thanks! I was thinking closer to 72 so you achieved impressive efficiency all they way down to 65 degrees.
Not as good range today leaving vegas going to Tucson. Lots of wind really killed my range on this 400 mile leg.
I also couldnā€™t keep my right foot out of it on the Phoenix to Tucson leg!
AC set to ā€˜Loā€™ and temps from 87 to 109. I did see 120 when parked and charging. Very impressed with the cooling !

The Barstow EA chargers are at Walmart. I was at one (#7) of the two out front by doors. There are others further back in the lot but guy charging next to me said yhey were all slow.
I tried 5 different ones in Baker but the 350 was being used. There are other 350ā€™s but they are not activated yet.
#1, 3 and 5 gave me problems but #7 gave me 43kW before it shut off at 41% SOC.
