I've seen a couple other threads out there that have listed the ride heights based on drive modes, but I'm curious if anyone has the numbers per ride height setting. Since the DM doesn't get Sport mode, its lowest ride height is "Low", which I assume is slightly higher than "Lowest", but can't really find a number as far as how tall the truck is at that setting.

Still on the fence between PDM and DM at the moment. The DM would qualify for the $5000 Colorado EV Tax credit, and the PDM costs $5000 more than the DM, so it's essentially a difference of $10k in my mind, but if the DM can't get low enough to fit in my garage that makes it easier to justify spending it and foregoing the tax credit, since the lease payments are pretty similar.

I have a Quad T and after doing some digging, Kneel is 8.6", Sport Lowest is about 9.5" clear of the ground. Standard AP mode is 2.6 inches taller, so sport low is likely 10.5 or 11 inches.

Sport low absorbs some of the more harsh imperfections in the road, but doesn't quite give you the full beans or the planted feel of lowest.

Way more comprehensive illustration I just found. You need sport to unlock the lowest setting, but also full output from the motors. In AP on the quad as an example, you get roughly 80% of the overall available power to protect the drive line components.

Quad would be awesome, but they're just too far out of my price range right now, even with the F&F discount. I'm really on the fence about PDM vs DM, since the DM will qualify for that Colorado tax credit, whereas the PDM is $500 over (so close). I like that the PDM has Sport mode, and the increased power, but with the same range on a Large pack, but I also like money...

This is exactly what I was looking for. From that I can just add 0.6" to the overall height of "Lowest" and then go check my garage to be sure. If I go PDM it won't matter, but like I said, that tax credit is tempting...

If only we could manually go into kneel mode, all this would be irrelevant.

FWIW, if you put it into park in kneel mode outside the garage and then pulled in, I don't think it raises out of kneel mode until you go a certain speed and/or distance. Mine is still kneeling when I leave the driveway. I would not choose which model to buy based on that behavior, though, since a OTA update could always change it. An OTA update could also give you "Lowest" mode, too.

If you really want the ev credit get the DM and upgrade it when it becomes available. Rivian has already said they will be offering a software unlock for $$$
I was thinking about that, but I'm planning to lease, so I'm not sure if that's the smartest move really. If I end up buying out at the end, then it would make sense, but if not, I'd be sinking thousands into a truck that's not mine. Also, no word on how much that software upgrade will cost just yet.

DM is the better option imo. I thought PDM only matters when you go into sport mode. So unless you'd be running in sport often, I don't think it makes a difference. If you're leasing, I'd just go with DM and see how you like it, and keep the $10k.

If you are leasing then I get not wanting to waste money. I’m leasing and I wouldn’t pay for the upgrade if I didn’t already have it. I got the Performance because it was the same 0-60 as my Model Y P. It does have more drive modes but I don’t really use them often.

Ya, quicker 0-60 time is always fun, but in reality I wouldn't be using Sport mode all that often.

I would most likely stick to AP mode 90% of the time, except Snow mode in the winter, and the occasional offroad modes when doing some dispersed camping. I'm planning on getting the 21" wheels, so I definitely wouldn't be doing any serious off-roading. It would really just be dirt trails/roads with lots of bumps and rocks for the most part.

Colorado EV Tax credit aside, there's only a $4/mo difference between PDM and base DM (assuming my numbers are all accurate). I think that's what's making the decision so tough. I'd hate to be 6 months into a 3 year lease wondering "would the performance have been more fun, for only $4 more per month?"

That $5000 credit would help with other stuff though. I'm guessing there's no chance that Rivian drops the MSRP of the PDM by just a little bit to fit that sub-80k category any time soon, huh?

As you can no doubt tell by now, I'm extremely indecisive. Drive my wife nuts. lol

It’s nice to have options even if I don’t use them. I would use sport more if the roads were better in LA

I pulled the trigger on the PDM! Waiting for finance to get the numbers together and send approval (fingers crossed).

The tax credit would be nice to have, but the "what if" would always be there in my head, because I'm an overthinker.
