R1S's are being delivered (according to Rivian customer support)

April/May is the earliest R1S delivery window for those who have always had a R1S reservation and did not switch from R1T. Anyone who indicates they received an earlier window is either a mis-vote or their window was based on a previous R1T reservation. I reserved immediately following the R1S reveal and while I'd love to get April delivery, May seems more likely.

This just isn’t correct. I am a Nov 2018 R1S LE pre-order holder - and have *always* been an R1S pre-order holder - who was given a March/April delivery window on Nov 23, 2021.

I preordered as R1S Nov 28, 2018. Configured a LE R1S when the configurator became available, received Mar/Apr delivery window Nov 23, 2021.

Making up "facts" to back up your opinion is really not a good way to earn trust and respect.

The top of the line Lariat and Platinum versions of F-150 Lightning are comparable to R1T. This is similar to the Mach-E Premium being comparable to the BMW iX. Unless you see the iX’s bugs bunny buck teeth grill placing it in the clown car category.

Comparable in price, but not in features, functions, performance or tech. Differences are huge:

I'm also a day 1 R1S reservation holder - never changed off the R1S model. Did switch external colors a few times, but have been launch green for over a year now (I think).

I cannot find any "public statement to Wall Street" where they ever discussed their production estimates for 2022, until the Q4 shareholder letter and conference call, when they mentioned 25,000 vehicles. If you've got a citation of an actual public statement by Rivian, I think we'd all like to see it. An article from a random website without support doesn't count.

This is not a defense of poor comms. This is an inquiry into the truth.

Yes, I saw these comparisons when I looked up the trim levels. That's why I continue to wait for my R1S; it's a great vehicle.
The wait would be more pleasant if we didn't have to scour chat forums and financial disclosures to figure out the likely delivery date.

I reserved a few days after you and am in the May/June group. Others that reserved later are in April/May group, so I to, am a bit bitter.

However, I have to remind myself that I received the 3rd Signature Model X delivered back in 2015. That car spent 22% of it's first two years at the Tampa Service Center.

There is a portion in there that says they plan to deliver 100k vans to Amazon by 2025. Assuming they are including 2025, they could easily do that if supply chain issues are reduced, here is a sample that gets them there on a ramp up that is not crazy hitting 10k this year;

2022 - 10k
2023 - 20k
2024 - 30k
2025 - 40k

That gets them to the 100k and still has room to meet the R1 projections.

I still have never seen a projection for the R1 deliveries outside of they thought the could get through the 50k by the end of 2023. The 25k for 2022 in the last earnings report was the first specific number I saw for a single year.

If someone has details of specific delivery projections please share the link, I have searched and cannot find any others.

CRCOLE, what conversion rate did you assume for 2021 reservation holders? Results could vary markedly depending on this assumption. As others have pointed out, some people are also holding reservations for other brand vehicles, rising rates may price out some people, some may be forced to buy something else before their Rivian can be delivered, etc.
