Ordered on Tuesday this is the only message that I have received.
I had to do chat with CS to be told that ? Icon is way to find out who my guide is. Chat agent could not give me VIN or estimate on delivery.

Probably won’t hear anything for 8-10 months, they’re delivering second half 2021 reservation holders at this point.

You misunderstood.
I bought from the shop. I am a 21 reservation holder.

I asked for it this week and I'm a 7/21 order and 4 miles from the SC.

I think you can try, but you're probably still far enough away from your delivery date.
When are you granted access to the shop? I've got a January 22 R1S order, with expected delivery in Jan/Feb 24. I feel like it'd be advantageous for them to give me access? I'd happily take one of those launch editions and get it sooner.

Located in Des Moines, IA, and I'd want to do a factory delivery, so location shouldn't be much of a factor.
Just go ahead and call them and ask for shop access with readiness to pick from existing inventory, they might just do it. I was 10/21 pre order yet got shop access back in mid June and accepted delivery of my S within 10 days.

I can tell you the way I got access...scheduled a test drive and asked my test drive associate to give me access. Was done that day.

I figure the shop varies due to your location, but they just dropped a whole bunch of LE's with 22s and a few with 21s. Still just missing Ocean Coast...so I'm not pulling the trigger yet.

I bought from the shop. I am a 21 reservation holder.
I had a similar experience the first time I picked a LE R1S from the shop. I wasn’t immediately given the 8 step process as the VIN wasn’t assigned to my account. After what seemed like 12 days my guide was finally able to get a vin assigned and the 8 step process started. It turned out to be an older VIN compared to what was coming off the line. Once that vehicle arrived at the SC I noticed it had issues. I rejected it and was given shop access again. Ended up finding another LE R1S and that’s the one I have now.

I emailed the guide Monday and I received a response yesterday afternoon. The S is almost complete at factory and I should expect it ready for pick up at Sc in 4-6 weeks.

So our exact build popped up but an LE and I grabbed it...vin is 008839. Super disappointed.

Is there anything I can do? I feel like this is a multiple month old rejected car. How does a car with that old of a vin still exist in the system?

Go compass yellow you will not regret it. We get so many compliments on ours. I was debating yellow and green and my wife weighed in on the yellow. So glad she did.
