I did the Yakima Offgrid - Large + Factory Bars and love the look

Your R1S looks sick on those rims.
That's true, I did not consider baskets.
Although, I would want one that takes up more roof space.

I have the Prinsu rack on my R1S. I saw the Overland Ruff Rack in person and it is noticeably taller profile than Prinsu. For me the Prinsu rack is the best option for the money. The Pro style is a significant upgrade from their original rack and while the rack doesn’t taper in the back once it’s on you don’t notice it. It is more than half the cost of the ORR rack and even at the same price I would take the Prinsu with its features and strength.
Yea. I think that's the direction I'll be going. perhaps some billet handles to make it seem more premium. ?

Might be getting higher than desired in price, but at least it's all removable: They also make an Offgrid Large Extension, adding 22" to the Length

Not to bad of an option though, and you can use it on anything if wanted in the future.
Large size dimensions: L 53.00 in x W 49.00 in x H 7.00 in - $699
Extension dimensions: L 22.00 in x W 49.00 in x H 7.00 in - $269
So, an extended long roof box = 75.00 in x W 49.00 in x H 7.00 in - $968
OffGrid Cargo Basket + Extension + Factory Bars

So another vote for the Pinsu. Seems like the winner.
I have those same sliders too :D

I'm still waiting on someone to independently review the Prospeed rack. I like the looks of that one the most, and due to the low profile, it should have the smallest efficiency hit along with minimal anxiety in low clearance situations as it sits below the OEM shark fin antenna. The only thing I'm concerned about is mounting accessories to it, due to some mounting hardware having long fasteners that may interfere with the roof glass being in such close proximity to it. I'm sure it's fine, but I still yearn for more than just the one set of photos I've seen on their product page.

One bonus of the Prinsu compared to the ProSpeed - you can load over the sharkfin

**also 12’ boards - let’s see those fit easily in an R1T ?

R1S (on order)
I got a Rhino Rack 84" x 49" and used two of the HD adapter kits... however, the plates that come with that kit are sized such that the bolts impact the Rivian roof bars. Also, the large pieces that you screw into are too big for the t-slots int he Rivian bars. So I got some T-slot bolts to go into the Rivian bars and I used SendCutSend to recreate the Rhino Rack HD adapter plates (added 25mm of length). Now it works great. Using SendCutSend to make the powder coated plates was easy as pie.

This is exactly what I'm leaning towards. Any chance those plate "files" are available?
My ideal system doesnt exist yet that I know of. I want a clean roof 98% of the time. I run bikes off the hitch. Only time I need platform up top is the 1-2 times a year I plan to be truly "wheeling" and want the ability to carry a full spare and other gear ala the R1S Rubicon run. In a perfect world, there would by quick detach feet from rivian that had a top compatible with these platform systems. Then you'd have a QD platform as well...

Whelp. I'm now part of the gang.
I got lucky and found the Ruff Rax used for $2,500 with some lights, harness, and handles.
Felt like the Goldilocks scenario.
I think I'd be just as happy with the Prinsu though. So, no need to over think it if anyone else is looking.

On this rack wind noise is about the same as the factory bars. Unless there is side gusts. you definitely feel and hear those more than before.
Next I just need to get the lights installed.
On good weather days, range is about the same on my 60 mile highway run. I think I take a bigger hit if its rainy/windy. That would apply without it though as well. So there is my scientific analysis.

I just added the new Mars Adventure Gear roof rack. Good time to add any others if there happens to be anything else out there these days.

Can anyone tell me if they've received the prospeed rack for the R1S? Or is it vaporware outside of the demo car build?

I have an order in from end of April, with a 6-8 week lead time they say, just wondering if its something I'll actually get to use this summer with RTT. I went with this because of the low profile nature but might have to switch thinking to soemthing thats actually in stock and shipping.

I have a question about the load capacity of a roof rack. The Rivian OEM cross bars have a dynamic load capacity of 250lbs per pair of cross bars. If the rooks rack like the Front Runner slime II connect to six mounting points on the R1S rather than four should the load capacity be increased >

PrinsuPro is rated at 800 dynamic / 1200 static, so yeah increased.

The Prinsu is 50 1/2” wide for the whole rack from fairing to rear.
how long is the Prinsu Pro rack? from the front of the first crossbar to the back of the rear? I have a GFC RTT and am curious if I'll end up with any usable crossbars after mounting it, or if I should use the GFC bars on top of the RTT to mount additional stuff 🤔

99” to the fairing <-> rear
95” first cross bar <-> rear
