Hey all,

I finally got my R1S back from the detailer (405 Motoring) who did an amazing job on my R1S! Needless to say, I highly recommend them if you're in the LA-area.

I wanted to share some pics they shared with me. Some more are on the way, so I'll update this thread once I have them. I was pretty surprised to see how much they needed to disassemble the vehicle in order to make sure they got coverage to the edges. It all started out with a decontamination wash, paint correction, clay bar, tire degreaser, etc. This is everything I asked them to do:
  • 70% XPEL PRIME XR PLUS on 2nd and 3rd row windows, rear window, and front windshield
  • 45% XPEL PRIME XR PLUS on front driver/passenger windows
  • XPEL STEALTH PPF on all visible blue painted surfaces, and all interior screens
  • XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS 10 PPF on all glossy black surfaces, lights, trims, door jams, etc.
  • Chrome delete (vinyl) on all window trims and front/rear bumper trims
  • Ceramic coating pretty much everywhere including wheels, door jams, plastics, glass, etc.
  • Debadging all the RIVIAN letters and R1S badge (sorry, I didn't get the rear pics from them yet).

Excellent work!

@Chewy734 If I might ask a favor - since I assume they pulled all badges off at some point, and this was done fairly recently, could you reach out to them and see if they recall if the C-pillar compass badges are the same or different than the hood badge?

Thanks! I can definitely ask them later this week and let you know.

The badges are all the same size, but perhaps the holes could be different on the back side? Unfortunately, I wasn’t there when they removed the hood badge, but on the C-pillars, the holes are offset from horizontal, and look like this pic. Both sides have identical holes though.

That would be great, I think the biggest thing is if they all have the same rear arc or if the C-pillar variants are totally flat on back. Per the other thread the hood has a curve tot he back of it. That might be a detail they remember specifically

I’ll ask then next time I see them.

I actually need a replacement badge for one of the C-pillars, because one of mine got damaged. When I spoke to Rivian, they said I can’t buy it separately as a part, rather I’ll need to submit a service request and have them replace it for me. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me!

Looks awesome. Just surprised (as you are in Cali) that you didn't have the glass roof treated.

Yeah that's crazy, you can apparently get the hood variant so it doesn't make sense not to offer the C-pillars. But that does basically lock-in the fact that they are different pieces. otherwise it would just be the part you can already get

Wow, very nice! I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures in its natural habitat (streets and neighborhoods of LA and maybe a trail or two :) )
