Looks like they are still on embargo, just showing outside and not talking about specs.

There is usually an embargo not because Rivian is trying to withhold information, but in order to give all the reviewers an equal amount of time to write and edit their reviews so they can all be released at the same time.

Nice to see many of the colors in the same lighting at the same time. Thanks for sharing.

No offense to R1T guys but the proportions of R1S is much more appealing to me. I definitely like the shorter (but not short) wheelbase. I assume that is contributing to lower towing capability. I am not sure what else is different that could be responsible for that.

Well, at least we won't hear TFL whining about how they didn't get an invite.

Now if Andre would just get the stats and numbers correct....

I'm pretty thankful, I'd never have un-subbed from their channels if not for that mess. There are a ton of YTs out there providing insight and value, so much so, I don't miss any of the videos of Andre configuring vehicles on manufacture's websites.

I know the R1S towing capacity has always been less than the R1T, but am I crazy thinking that it used to be 9,000lbs??
Now I'm seeing 7,700lbs??

Disappointed if that is the case.

Must be crazy then. Maybe I'm thinking of my Navigator which is 9,000.
That is an extreme difference between the R1S and R1T

My earliest recollection has always been 7,700 lb but I am not an early reservation holder. the way I look at it, is that I wouldn't want to tow something too much heavier than the vehicle so I am OK with R1S keeping me in line. That said, I would love one of their engineers explaining what goes in making that determination.

This is not uncommon. Compare Tahoe (~8600 lbs) and Silverado (~12,500 lbs). My quoted figures are a few years out of date but should convey the point.
