If anything like other vehicles. Remove the panel. Get some fabric tape to go around the push pins or anything that looks like plastic on plastic crime. Should fix problem for less than $10 and a little time.

Our Bronco was horrible and got rid of 99% of plastic rattles. While ope might add some dynomat type product as well.
any instruction video on how to do this?

Very curious for solutions as I have the same issue on my R1S as well.

For anyone tries the approach above, I would recommend giving some Dynamat Xtreme a shot while you're at it. I've had great results in the past using this to line rattling areas / panels on older vehicles with bass-heavy systems. Haven't used it in a decade or so but it was a good product back then so I can only assume that it still is.

FYI - it's basically aluminum lined sound deadening foam with a sticky surface for application and can be easily cut / patched together to cover the relevant areas. There's also probably other (cheaper) brands out there by now but haven't looked too far into it.

You can buy it at most stereo shops or on Amazon.

As a former Tennessean, love the handle and ditto to not having touched Dynamat in a decade! šŸ˜‚

Of course - Iā€™ll ask if theyā€™ll share what they did to fix. Canā€™t see why they wouldnā€™t tell.
Reporting back to say that they removed the sub, installed insulation, and no more rattles for me.
Completed at the Costa Mesa service center.

I can hear a rattle on the outside, and a slightly louder rattle inside. If I press on the panel inside close to the subwoofer, the rattling stops. I put in a service ticket for this Friday. I'll have to see if they can get to it, and will report back if they do.
I Took my R1S in for that rattle they said it was a loose clip on the rear door and they fixed it.
When I got my R1S back the service ticket showed they changed my amplifier because of some type of recall,
Now my system is not equal the sound from the rear is so low that I have to move the fader almost completely to the rear just to balance the sound and be able to acknowledge that I do have a sub woofer. Iā€™ve taken it back three times at least and they canā€™t make it correct I ask for my old amp and I was told they no longer have it. The service manager is being helpful and waiting on the engineering team to get back with him with a solution. And not tell me that it is working as designed because the cheapest car has a better sound THAN I currently have.
My R1S was an early Order and was suppose to have the Meridian Sound System. It was changed without any notification to myself.
I was told at my first service visit that i had the Meridian system but Rivian just have their on covers. That was not true.
I have been in the Rivianā€™s with the Meridian systems and what a Difference.
Be careful they donā€™t change your amp.
i had no choice as with the failure to provide the Meridian sound System that I purchased.
How many others have the bait and switch systems?

That's terrible. I guess that's one way to get rid of the rattle...

I brought my car in back in June for the rattle, but they said it's normal and to be expected. I can hear the rattle when volume is set to 8, so to me, that doesn't seem normal at all. Sounds very cheap and something is definitely loose. Even though it was covered, the amount they have on there in the invoice is pretty outrageous. I can't imagine bringing the car in later in the future when warranty is out.

Thatā€™s something you would expect from the box chevy mentality,
Not from a high end EV service center.
It appears that they Do Not seem to have certified sound specialist to handle these issues.
I think it is because this is not the original engineered system for the R1S.
If you drive through the Hood they will be impressed šŸ˜³ Crazy ā€¼

Similar to others, I got my R1S back from the service center with only a partial fix on the subwoofer rattle. They indicated that they installed sound insulation on the inner fender. It does help at lower volumes, but It's still bad at higher volumes. The interesting thing to me was service referenced the fact that the sub was actually contacting the inner fender. The Rivian system re-design (vs. Meridian) didn't seem to take into account how much a speaker can move.

Related side note - my loaner had the Meridian system and it was much more low-key and accurate, but the Rivian system uses the overhead speakers more to accentuate more highs and has much more bass punch using the same settings. I like the over-the-top Rivian system better, but the Meridian is clearly more high-end.

At some point I may try and remove the rear panel to see if I can add some rubber spacers to move the sub further inward without contacting the plastic cover. If anyone has removed that panel and knows how it is attached I would love some help.

Got my car back from service center to fix the rattle sub by passenger 3rd row with high bass music (like Starboy from the weekend.). This is my 3rd time brought it in and they finally fix it.

This is what they said> Verified rattle noise during high voume bass coming from right rear door control modole.
Fix- Insulated contact points of both rear door control modules.

Mine was specifically the fender. If you held your hand on the outer fender the rattle completely went away.
