Unexpected, a weeks ago my rivian guide called and told me that I can get my order in 6-8weeks. I signed up the agreement and got my vin number. I am waiting now. My window was Oct, 2023.

LUCKY. I have the same window as you. Great to see they are pulling a few people forward for R1S orders too. Hopefully that means that they're really ramping production.

I ordered R1S around April, 2021.
My configuration was like others such as white, adventure, quad (at the time there was only quad).
What rivian guide told that they have the one that is match to my configuration.
I worried that that is a returned one by someone.
However, rivian guide told me that they are going to create a new VIN for me.

Oh pricing is the same as the price when I ordered ~$75500 which is a launch edition.

More than likely, someone with your config cancelled their order and you were next in line and probably in the same area. Nice to know you're in the Bay, maybe I'll get mine sooner too lol. We actually live super close, so I'll be on the lookout for your white R1S .

This same thing happened me to when I ordered a Model 3 in 2018. Wait time was a month. A week later, I'm driving the car around. Guide told me someone cancelled their order with the same config. Car is still running great and we haven't had any problems with it.

When did you get the guide assigned?

I was shifted to Jan-Feb 2023 a few months ago. Got an 8-Step email last week and before I could complete it I got another email on Saturday that my R1S was ready for delivery. Had to scramble to transfer the funds. Picked it up last night.

I need to stop reading the forums. Happy for OP and MIG but it is increasingly frustrating to be in the purgatory of having Confirmed but waiting on 8-Steps for weeks while others are getting pulled up delivery by months.

Yes, it is a launch edition. When i irdered, the launch edition was sold out. My config is ecactly the same as the launched one.
