Q1 2025 Rivian Production & Delivery Figures: 14,611 Produced / 8,640 Delivered

IRVINE, Calif.--Rivian Automotive, Inc. today announced production and delivery totals for the quarter ending March 31, 2025. The company produced 14,611 vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois and delivered 8,640 vehicles during the same period.

As discussed on its last earnings call, production and delivery results for the quarter are in line with Rivian's outlook of approximately 14,000 vehicles produced and approximately 8,000 vehicles delivered. Rivian is also reaffirming its 2025 delivery range guidance of 46,000 to 51,000 vehicles.

The company also announced that on May 6th, 2025 after market close, it will release its first quarter 2025 financial results. Rivian will host an audio webcast at 5:00 p.m. ET the same day to discuss the performance and outlook for the business. Good figures and obviously they expect deliveries to pick up significantly in the near term to reach their targets of c.50k.

Ooof. Down quite a bit from last year. I guess we didn’t see the uptick due to Tesla backlash - but likely as we said because the markets do not overlap. 36% decline in deliveries for a growth company is kinda bonkers.

Playing the $10-13 bounce up and down on the stock has been a solid play for quite a while. Guessing it stays that way for another quarter.

Hopefully SCs will get better at clearing the backlog for R2s when they come out. Rivian Bay Area SC reliability needs to be pulled up ASAP.

During the last earning 4Q2024, it was mentioned that Amazon took EDV deliveries, which was unusual since they have not in the past during the Q4.

Since they are accepting 10k vehicles/yr, it was essentially demand pull forward and probably did not accept many, if any EDV this quarter; hence, Y/Y comparison look poor.

Still Rivian has a steep hill to climb, given all the tariff environment and expected slowdown for the auto industry as a whole for the rest of the year.

If you predict a bad (low) number, and meet said number, its still bad. Plus 8k times 4 only gets you 32k deliveries for the year. What's the secret sauce for making up the difference? It won't be a lower price point with everything becoming more expensive.

Seems market for $90k (average R1 selling price) EV's is only so big, which I do believe Rivian has acknowledged and makes sense. Stock will be sideways until R2.

There's always a million different ways of looking at these things (and a million more ways to spin them), but unless you're one of the unlucky ones who loaded up on the stock during the IPO, the past 12 months haven't been all "doom & gloom".

I don't expect any major changes beyond this until R2 is released.

They haven't even shut down the plant yet so making those numbers in the next few quarters will be even more difficult.

Assuming they didn’t deliver any EDVs in Q1 because of the Q4 delivery, that could account for 10k of the target. Plus they should be starting fleet deliveries outside of Amazon s00n.

It’s not all about the R1s.
