also, they only sent three fasteners when more were needed but tech thinks "the missing ones probably won't matter on securing the panels"

ETA: how the hell don't they have a huge box of all possible fasteners in their service vans??????
yeah probably 1 or 2 less lugs won't matter for securing the wheel either. Having an assortment of fasteners on the service truck I think would be pretty obvious. Dang!

if I knew they would charge me and not having enough fasteners I would have fixed it myself.

Another shameful act. But hey, we’re only talking about 80-100k cars. We shouldn’t expect all the bolts to be secured or in place.

I'm hoping the bill is merely some internal accounting they use so the tech has proof work was performed? So far there is no pre-auth on my credit card on file with Rivian... but it does say "pay type "Customer Pay."

alls well that ends well? overnight a "final invoice" arrived stating the service was free. Still strange that 1) I received a "customer pay" invoice to start with and that 2) they don't carry extra fasteners on their service vehicles.

I had service come replace the missing bolts in mine, but that was maybe a year ago? Who knows how Rivian service will handle it now. I also asked if I could buy the screws to keep extra/install myself but Rivian wouldn't sell them to me.

I had a few loose/missing small screws in mine and created a service ticket a month after delivery, they went through and replaced the missing ones and retorqued the rest at the service center. All free

When I noticed, prior to creating the service ticket, I put the truck in highest suspension setting and crawled under with some torx bits and snuggled them up just in case more came out between noticing, and my appointment. To their credit, only two small ones were a little loose aside form the missed ones. Underbody shield etc were all good.
