I saw this on Reddit, are you going to start offering blackout trim for the chrome lettering?

I have developed this product but will have to speak to my IP attorney later this month to see about the legality of selling this.

Thanks for the pics, looks great. Was it difficult to apply? How long did it take you and do you have any concerns about durability?

About an hour— a little annoying to install, says my wife who did it for me because she has so much more patience for this than I do. It feels pretty strong vinyl tbh so not worried yet!

Im not an attorney myself and this isn’t legal advice but if you sell it as individual letters there isn’t really anything Rivian can do about it. You aren’t even the one spelling the word Rivian, your end user is. There’s nothing stopping me from using mailbox lettering to do the same thing outside of it looking terrible.

For sure CYA but I would be shocked if this was even a grey area. If you can do it, or even a few individual letters I would be down to buy it. I bought a blackout kit from another company and the letters are already coming off. Not great quality.

meh. would be better with a center cap but what I like about these wheels with the covers is they’re weird enough to match the weird headlights— it’s def an EV looking vibe.

I was just about to say the same thing - sell individual letters. No one can say it's illegal. I will buy them.

Yes, it's no secret.
We use GSWF for PPF and tinted PPF.
3M and Avery Dennison for vinyl (mostly 3M though, very rarely Avery Dennison)
ORAFOL for the yellow fog lights and the holiday (green/orange) tints.

I guarantee you could find a public use font that’s indistinguishable with the block lettering Rivian is using.

R1S comes Friday but I put up the crossbar mounts last night.
They work great thanks @twraps !

Two suggestions to make them even better.
1. Countersink holes more for the provided screws or provide screws that have non-countersunk heads. I could see someone over-tightening to make them flush and cracking the mounts.
2. Have a post or hook built in to hang the keys on.
