This is the third left-of-steering wheel MagSafe mount I’ve used so far. Was going to try the ev sportline mount but couldn’t get over the gap created by sliding the bracket under the dashboard. This ProClip mount is easy to install and solidly clipped to the slotted channel. Will see how it goes.

Proclip
Brcovan ball mount base

I bought both the Brcovan short and medium arms - I’m using the short arm in the pictures. It’s really compact and good looking. The medium arm is 1.25” longer but not as compact. Articulation is good around the left side with no obstruction. Will see how it goes.

That seems low. Can you see it? I used the OpenSourceEV 3D print file to mount on the left, and added my own extended ball, then an offset charger with cooling. That part's important in summer here. The phone is just where I can see it past the wheel.

Your setup is amazing! What screen/device are you using above the main display? Is your radar detector powered by the mirror? This is the most high tech addons for the Rivian that I have seen.

I tried the phone mount from TWRAPS that attaches in the dash slot behind the display on the right side, but it's VERY hard to remove once installed. It's nearly impossible to get enough leverage to compress the bracket to remove it while you're seated and reaching over the steering wheel. I decided to not use it since easy removal seems daunting. https://twraps.com/products/dashboard-phone-mount-for-rivian-r1t-r1s

I also test installed the taller arm with the set up and the phone sat a bit high for my liking so I switched to a lower arm. I also had the OpenSourceEV mount before this and didn't like it as much - Trim got scratched on my previous gen 1 Quad and I was careful with the install, too.

Clean install!

Where did u get power from?
I got power from the odb2 port using Scosche adapter.

I'm pretty sure it's scratching mine up on every drive. How solid is the one you have? Any bounce? Do you go off road? I really like that mine is solid while catching air at 50.

I like the Proclip mount much better than the other 3D printed ones that block the side vents.
I haven't seen any that block the side vents, which ones? I actually kind of want that for cooling. The side vent isn't important for me. I've tried to aim it at the phone.

I had a few of these mounts on the right of the steering wheel and never liked any of them. They're too busy looking in between the two Rivian displays, and either too tall or blocked views.

It's pretty solid with no bounce but I don't go off-road. The two arms are pretty hard to compress to fit in the slot during mounting so the support is there. I'm using all-aluminum Brcovan arm and mount base with RAM ball MagSafe holder - the whole set up is pretty heavy including my iPhone Pro Max. I thought of inserting some black foam in between the two arms for more support if there's any bounce but it's not needed in my use case.

I have a samsung flip so I use the proclip holder not charger mount and just plug in each time. I don't off road but it's solid and not going anywhere. The Everyamp 3d printed one blocks the vents. For me there is limited vents so I like it much better.
