Nice to say, but I was honestly surprised how much of a gap I got on both sides of the hood piece, for instance. I was also surprised how much of a PITA the hood install was with the scoop in the hood, but that part has nothing to do with the template.
Hoods are hard to do... I will soon be making a model without a gap (with edge wrap) but it's challenging and would take a while (+ imagine the amount of PPF I will waste until I nail it).
From all the cars we support, the only ones that I thought I can do the hood PPF with a blindfold is Model 3/Y - super flat surface. All others are tough in one way or another.

How much of a gap on each side did you end up with and ~ how long did it take you?

Do you mind share/PM me the ebay link for the XPEL file? I did a search and there are a lot of sellers and not sure their films are legit. Thanks
I have some doubts if what I bought is the real deal or a knockoff. I went this route because nothing was available at the time. I would recommend going with the precut options. I am tempted to pull mine off and replace it with a precut piece.

@twraps, this is what I wound up with. Maybe half an inch? It's enough that I'm afraid to apply ceramic without blocking off the gap in case I ever install a full piece later.

Thanks....That is pretty substantial. I've done some DIY ppf in the past and the gaps were about 1/8"

That would've been closer to what I would've expected. The rest of the panels I've done so far are closer to 1/8 - 1/4".

Noted! I will revise the cut model, I have my R1S now just need to find a little time to re-check and re-do, and I will also be doing a version with edge wrapping (for all panels). If you want this replaced (if you are not happy with the fitment) just let me know and I will arrange it as soon as I revise the model.

Good morning @twraps - reviving this thread to ask if the current precut available PPF in your store has been updated with the new hood pattern cut model to get closer to the edge (or to allow some edge wrap)?

R1S arrives tomorrow so working to determine my last initial necessary mods - Thanks!

As a matter of fact it has :) I just updated & tested on my R1S last week...now it's pretty much edge to edge on the sides, less than 1mm distance left. Also we just released full wrap for the R1S:

Edit: To clarify, I am talking about the full hood here...the half and micro are unchanged.

Thanks for the prompt reply! I’m also waiting on that new ABS for the large pattern mud flaps to come in - so I’ll reach out next week to talk about a possible order for both the large mudflaps as well the full front PPF kit.
Your custom yellow center storage bin should arrive today - so many accessories!!! 😁

I bought a bulk cut piece of XPEL ultimate or whatever it's called off eBay for $65 and covered the front grill piece.
Having never done it before, it was a learning experience and took a really long time. There are a handful of places that are noticable that it's a diy job but they are small and blend in with all the bugs i collect. As a bonus there was enough leftover of the ppf to cover the top portion of the tailgate above the light bar (the piece of the paint you touch when closing the tailgate), and the charge port door. IMO the Twraps piece is not sufficient, but I like what they are doing otherwise.
I did mine too. Good thing about Rivian is that the 6, 12 and 18 inch bulk rolls cover almost all areas very well. They are cheap too. I covered good, front and tailgate for under $500. Good piece was most expensive at around $220. I still have left over for lower door area.
