I used mine last week.I haven't used my spare tire since the eighties. (just for a different experience)
I had previously mentioned in this thread that flats are not uncommon for me as I frequently travel well off of paved roads. My sister works at AAA and told me that they would not have come to my aid in the locations I have had flats. I guess if I planned on treating it as a pavement princess, it wouldn't be a concern.I chatted online with their service crew. They said not including a spare hasn't been a complaint and that many vehicles now sell without them. I told him this is an issue and to send my complaint up the flagpole. Sure Carollas and Leafs might not carry a spare, but their competition is Wranglers, Tacomas, Broncos. I'm not buying a commuter here. AAA doesn't come out to even the campgrounds (I know from experience).
Even if it wasn't standard for all, you would think it would at least be included in the "off-road upgrade". The upgrade does include an air compressor so I guess the hope is the leak is minimal enough to keep refilling and limping along?I think the reason it hasn't been a complaint is because we will be able to add it if we want it, they are just making it an option. If it was standard, everyone would be paying for it. Now, only those of us who plan to buy it, myself included, will have to pay for it. Makes no difference to me, but benefits those who don't plan to add it.
I feel as though you have not spec'd out a fully-loaded Bronco. They are definitely not that cheap.....that is about two fully loaded off road Tacoma's or Broncos
Credit Unions are this cheap and there are a couple that offer lower rates for EVs. Definitely shop around.Toyota has 1.9% APR right now
I was looking at the Outerbanks line...there are two or 3 others that are def higher end and more $$$. Thanks for the credit union tip, I will look in my area.I feel as though you have not spec'd out a fully-loaded Bronco. They are definitely not that cheap.

If they included it in the off-road package, they would probably just increase the price of the package by the exact same amount they're going to charge us for the spare. I don't see that as having any benefit to people like myself who will buy the off road equipped (including tires) R1T and option in the spare. I see it as a negative to someone who would have added the adventure package, but gone with efficient tires and bought aftermarket wheels with all terrain tires.Even if it wasn't standard for all, you would think it would at least be included in the "off-road upgrade". I plan on getting a matching 20" AT wheel and going with a 5-tire rotation. So for the folks electing to get a spare, do you plan to get a matching wheel and rotated the spare into normal tire rotation, or just have it as a spare (potentially with a cheaper wheel and/or tire)?
I've never done this process, I'm imagining it requires very frequent rotation. Do you buy 5 tires at once when they become worn? I hadn't considered buying a full size spare until this.I plan on getting a matching 20" AT wheel and going with a 5-tire rotation.
A spare will last 10 years. I'd ignore and have it checked when I got new tires, maybe rotating it in then.I've never done this process, I'm imagining it requires very frequent rotation. Do you buy 5 tires at once when they become worn? I hadn't considered buying a full size spare until this.
Same.I plan on getting a matching 20" AT wheel and going with a 5-tire rotation.
When buying 5 matching wheels/tires, it's good to include the spare in the rotation pattern. That way your set of 5 tires lasts longer (1 is always getting a break as the spare). Once all tires are worn & you're ready for replacements, you typically just replace 4 and keep the best remaining "old" tire for spare and just rotate the 4 from that point on.I've never done this process, I'm imagining it requires very frequent rotation. Do you buy 5 tires at once when they become worn? I hadn't considered buying a full size spare until this.
What Skyler said. Discount Tire and other wheel and tire stores will rotate your tires for their life for a pretty decent price...Discount charged $99...or at least that is what it was the last time I used it back in 2016.I've never done this process, I'm imagining it requires very frequent rotation.
