POLL: When do you think Rivian will open the Configurator?

As we all sit around twiddling our thumbs waiting for our Rivians, here's a silly poll to give us something to do. We've heard a number of different dates/quarters/years when Rivian will open the configurator. It keeps moving out later and later. So, when do you REALLY think Rivian will get around to opening it??

Ever since they shifted their marketing line from "later this summer" to "later this year", my money is on Dec 2020. I would of course love to be proven wrong on that and see a configurator much earlier.

I'm betting that they'll release it on Oct, and we'll hear an announcement on Sept about it.
The best marketing they have at the moment will be the series on Apple tv which will be released on Sept. I think they may gain extra preorders from there, so they have to be ready with the configurator so the hype doesn't die down.

I think November.

Rivian has continued to do "drip marketing", and I think it will be more than a month from airing of Long Way Up.

Who knows, but it can't come soon enough for me!

It greatly depends on whether they make one available as a toy to the general public, or wait to implement it when reservations are converted to actual orders.
If the former, then Sept/Oct is possible. But from the announced early access for reservation holders, I think the latter option and a December time frame to be more likely.

I continue to hold onto the notion that “Later this summer” and “later this year” are, at this point, not mutually exclusive. According to the calendar, Summer lasts until September 22, which to me would technically still count as “later this year”

I think they will wait and see what the Hummer EV is going to cost. If it’s drastically less than Rivian, they may need to adjust.

It won't be. My guess is more.

While I would like it to be September, I think November is realistic (optimistic?) if they stay on target to deliver late Summer 2021.
