Looks like an XC-40 and a Model Y had a bebe...
Looks more like they stick the back end of the xc40 on my xc60 to me. I'm a little surprised they aren't pushing aero a little more.

Seriously.

I'd put it as a strong contender to replace my wife's aging ICE.

She wants a 4 door, AWD hatchback with 250ish+ miles of range, that our big ass dog can fit in:
  1. The Y is ok, but she hates the controls (wants the instrument cluster and more buttons and such).
  2. The VW has no Frunk (non-starter for her).
  3. The Mustang Mach-E is too big for her tastes.
  4. The current Polestar doesn't have enough room in the back for el doggo without laying down the seats.
  5. EV6/Ioniq 5 with AWD, it has a laughably small frunk.
Kinda leaves the Volvo XC-40 Recharge right now... but its range is a bit light, its price is a bit high, and the frunk is pretty damn small.

So something that bridges the XC-40 and Model Y would be a winner for us.

Model 3?

Also looks like XC-40 is a SLOOOOW charge for L3 charging FWIW.

Sadly, too small for the dog... plus, he got all "I'm NOT GOING IN THE TRUNK!" when we tried to shove him in there.

And the same issue with the controls, she dislikes having everything in the MCU screen. The moment she had the fiddle around in there to move her mirrors and HVAC, she was out.

The P3 is XC90 size so if Mach-E is too big, she would hate the P3.
Looking at that photo, there's NO WAY that vehicle is XC-90 sized. Sure, it might share a platform, or even have a similar wheelbase/length. But the P3 is gonna look and drive like a much smaller vehicle.

I agree it doesn't look as tall as the current XC90 but keep in mind this will be the twin for the next-gen XC90 (which is apparently going to be blending more estate/wagon like proportions with traditional SUV styling). Regardless, still significantly bigger than a Mach-E.

It looks really promising. I just wish it had a 3-row option.
This is a sticking point for my wife too. I keep telling her a matching R1S to my R1T would be the "logical" choice.
