If you go to Moab (just left yesterday) there is a free ChargePoint charger (125kW) in Price at the Dinosaur Museum. We stopped there yesterday to check it out as I expect to make the SLC to Moab trip a few times when my R1T arrives.

There is also a fast charger in Green River although not free. Not sure whatā€™s in Moab other than a slow Level 2 but thanks for the info and will be following this thread.

Thanks for the tips. Definitely planning on Moab at this point, still in SLC finishing up some work at the hotel. I have my camping gear so plan on camping at least one night.

Any suggestions on a camping location where I might have ATT service would be great, but will make do the best I can if not.

Second charging stop EA station in T and T Country Store in Huntington OR. Had to be the oddest charging station I have been too. One ancient gas pump and 4 EA stalls.

We drove from Bremerton WA, to Denver CO. hit that charger stop, that was super cool, back in time gas station/pumps, and EA chargers. we were in a BOLT towing a MYPOD camper, walking around was like, what is the flux capacitor reading. one of the owners came and joked, we don't like change much here, can I interest you in a NEW Coke, ahahaha. love the trip updates, we get our rivian next frida!!!

@JeremyP will have great local camping recommendations, but if you can get a reservation, I would highly recommend Arches. It is just outside of Moab, away from traffic noise and ambient light, and a tremendous Park in its own right.

I'll be in dispersed camping north of town with a group for Cruise Moab, but it's getting more difficult to get a decent dispersed site because of the popularity of the area.

We enjoy camping at sand flats recreation area and the first few campground loops are close enough to town that you might have reception. It's also where the baby lions back is, just around the corner from the entrance booth which is a fun intro to driving on sandstone fins.

BLM sites along the river are nice but fill up fast, and you most likely won't have reception. When I've talked to someone at the blm in the past, they said the campgrounds along the river tend to fill first, then Ken's Lake, Sand Flats, and finally further out campgrounds like the ledge along Kane creek road.

Here's a summary of blm camping in the area:

Download iOverlander app. Works great even without cell service and it's my go-to app when camping in my Sprinter.

You might try camping off Potash Road but check on the iOvefrlander app.

When I was there last spring, there is a free charger at the Rocky Mountain Power station in Moab, Really close to the city park. I think it's only 50 kwh, but at least it's there.

Day 3 Update:

Traveled from SLC to Moab.

Only lost 1% overnight from 54% to 53%

Stop 1 - EA 350kW in Spanish Fork - Max of 219 kW
Charged 38 to 66% in 15 min 56 sec
Total 45kWh delivered

Made a lunch stop at the at the Dino Museum in Price as suggested by @RivianXpress. Actually only 62.5kW
Charged 30 kW in 29min

Stop 3 - Green River EA 350kW - Max 183 kW
Charged 39 to 85% in 35 min 11 secā€™
Total 65kWh delivered

In Moab tooling around, used the 50kW charger a couple times, also free like the one in Price

I took the R1T out on a trail called Fins and Things, turned out to be a little out of my comfort zone. There was one section I wasnā€™t sure if I could do, a couple of guys in Jeeps spotted me down. It was a close call but the alternative of turning around didnā€™t seem plausible. Some video of that to come as soon as my friend can send me a copy. Possibly some video coming to Youtube soon enough as well as one of the girls with the Jeep guys was recording as well. For those that know the trail I went in the North entrance and exited at mile 7.7. Definitely found the weak part on the bottom of my R1T, the plastic piece on either side of the underbody shield (no surprise there).

2 mi/kWh today, a lot of travel at 80-85 mph in conserve. And some traditional passing, (be careful she gets up to 100 from 55 quickly).

Ouch, hopefully some aftermarket rock slider options come out! Nice work breaking in the new truck! So you didn't do the last part of the trail that follows along the rock fins? Are you heading out of town tomorrow?
