No Rivian vehicles, including EDVs, have LFP pack, as of end of 2022. Q1 2023 is supposed to be the first time Rivian introduces them via EDVs paired with enduro motors
Are the EDVs single or dual motor?

Agreed and for people in more moderate climates it would be very compelling to look at the small battery as a viable option for day to day driving. The ability to go to 100% and the longer duty cycle for that chemistry matches up really well to the large pack with a daily 70% charge for range.
I did not know this. If that is the case, then why would anyone get the large battery pack? How often would you need that extra 30% that you would spend an extra 6k. If you need extra range, might as well go with the max pack but if you don't, take the standard. The large pack seems like a useless option now

Well they don't really have a max battery pack. I'm much more confident that the standard battery pack will be available first.

There are other reasons, charge still slows down as it gets over 70% so traveling would be impacted. Bigger hit on performance and range in colder climates.

It is like anything else weigh the pros and cons and make the decision. In more moderate climates though you can configure both an R1T and R1S with dual motor standard pack and get that 7500 tax credit. Depending on use case it could be an attractive configuration for some people.

Well, we are over halfway through Q1 2023. If they haven't already started delivering EDVs with an Enduro motor and LFP pack, it will be happening s00n (we all know how that translates). RJ shared a pic of quite a stream of Enduro drive units going down the line at the factory this week.
Rivian has EPA certification for the 2023 EDV with the Enduro and LFP battery. They'll have to seek certification for the LFP battery for the R1T and R1S before they can start selling them that way as well. The EDV Certification shows it has having ~94 kWh, which will absolutely not get an R1 vehicle 300+ miles of range. They will probably be able to eek out 250 miles of range for a dual motor+LFP at that capacity though.

That is probably accurate, the configurator shows 260+ for both the R1S and R1T on the standard pack dual motor.

And LFP don't spontaneously combust...
