Picked up my R1S back in August. A few days prior to delivery got a call from the local service center, they had noticed a small paint issue on the drivers door. A small bubble of paint. I had two options, delay delivery two weeks while they fixed or take delivery and deal with it later. I took the latter.

Finally dropped of car this week, they took it to the local certified body shop that has been doing Rivian work. Got a call from Rivian. Body shop found delamination on the adjacent quarter panel. Rather than fix existing, they're getting a new quarter panel shipped out. Could take up to two weeks. Service center was good about getting me a rental. Today they said they'll have a loaner R1S I can swap out. At least the kids will get a few more days of Halloween mode on the loaner.

It's delay my booking of PPF. Hopefully I can get it on before skiing starts.

Glad to hear it’s being fixed pretty quickly and Rivian is being responsive. That red on black makes me with I’d picked it too!

what is the typical policy on loaners? DO they only offer loaners if it's going to be an extended time without your ride?

Zero idea. My loaner is a unicorn. Red with green interior.

I think its luck of the draw. I wouldn't count on a Rivian loaner for any service.

I have a very similar issue. A very small dent was found at delivery. I dropped the car off and Rivian sent it to a body shop. I thought all was well and I dropped it off at a ppf place. They discovered that the body shop made a mess of things-over spray, missing clear coat etc. Taking it back to Rivian to see if they can get it sorted. It's a first-world problem but frustrating and time consuming.
