It came up as a sideline in a different thread, but thought some might find it useful to see the additional costs that are not currently included in the Rivian payment calculator.
I'm going to assume an $80K configured price (including destination). IF anyone posting for their State would do the same, it would be helpful:

Oregon:
Rivian R1T R1S "Out the door" fees and incentives by State 1633631823287

Oregon new vehicles are registered for 4 years. Renewals cover 2 years and will be $306 under the current structure (actual registration fees for an EV are $153 per year). Any County fees are additional (per year of $56 or $30)

Doc fees:
No indication if Rivian will include them in the $1075 "delivery fee".
Tesla includes them in the $1,200 "Destination & doc fee".
If Rivian charges them separately, Oregon caps them at $150.

Incentives:
Current Rivian offering do not qualify for the Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program since the base MSRP is over $50K.

Is the "privilege" tax a joke?

No Sales tax is nice...I envy my Oregon neighbors...

This is what I am book keeping for myself:
Washington State (assuming $80k sale price)
Sales Tax (10.1%, varies by county) - $8,080
Title & Plates - $113
Registration (varies by county and even municipality) - $300 (a pure guess based on the renewal of my current car)
Doc Fee - $150

Sale price $77,075
9.5% sales tax- $7322
Registration- $300?
Title- $150
Smog Abatement fee- Maybe $30. - I hate this the most. They talk about climate change all day and you pay this garbage even if you get an EV.

No way CA would be that low. When I lived in CA my Mazda 3 was like 350/yr. After moving to MA this year I went from 350/yr to like $35/yr ?

According to the CA DMV's calculator, an 80k R1T will be $7600 for tax and $817 for registration.

The California DMV has a website for this specifically! You can find it here: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/wasapp/FeeCalculatorWeb/newVehicleForm.do
I haven't been able to get this to work for months now. If anyone else is able to let me know.

I'm thinking due to the purchase price and weight of the truck registration is going to be over 1k in Los Angeles County. My tacoma when New was around 550. They also add a fee for it being a commercial vehicle, all trucks unless you attach a camper shell. What a joke.

Oh wow. I've only owned vehicles from $25k-$50k. Didn't know registration would be that high.

They just take take take here. I see where that money is being used. 60 feet from my business there are 15 guys working on 10 feet of sidewalk. ugh.

It appears pretty accurate to me.

It has gone up since 2016 but this was what I paid in 2016 when I bought my Tesla

Rivian R1T R1S "Out the door" fees and incentives by State 1633640456550

This is the calculator comparing the Tesla with the R1S with the new fees being imposed as of today, $880 more for the R1S and almost 10G more to purchase

Rivian R1T R1S "Out the door" fees and incentives by State 1633641076441

Edit: Add VLF Depreciation schedule
If you want to see the depreciation for the year over year of what the VLF will be for your vehicle this is the latest schedule from the DMV

This is for the R1S above it is the VLF (like an excise tax) added to the registration fees for years 1-11 BY year 11 it drops to $79

Tax rate will vary by county in CA. It's 7.5% just at state level and can be up to 2.5% additional at the local level.

If you live in an RTA area the tabs are going to be more like $750-$800 per year. There is also a yearly fee for electric cars to make up for lost gas tax revenue in there.
