At least the dude is honest stating out loud his overall 3 out of 10 rating while sitting 2ft away from the Vinfast rep..

So it’s safe to assume he won’t be jumping the non-existent line for a VF8?

Safe to assume he won't be getting a test loaner VF8 either after giving it a 3/10 rating... he even jokes about that at the end of the video.

From the reviews I’ve read, no one would want to spend more time in one than absolutely necessary. Therefore, Expect all the rental car companies to buy millions of them at a deep discount ASAP.

175mi range from a "83kWh" battery? Either they are using 1890's tech electric motors or the "83kWh" number is a ummm slight exaggeration ?

I can understand a 7,000lb Rivian aerodynamic brick getting 2mi/kWh but a sleek/modern sedan?

Oh, and it looks like that kooky "battery subscription" idea is off the table for US cars thankfully.

That's not too far off from the eTron specs (204mi on 87kwh with similar stated power numbers - eTron does 0-60 in over 5 seconds), though admittedly that's a repurposed ICE platform from 2019 and is being retired so it's certainly not to be imitated.

But, as Kyle says, they were lightning fast in development, so that's what you get when you don't eek out all the aero, optimize a BMS and drivetrain, etc. They don't even appear to have had regen braking figured out yet (outside of a blended brake pedal).

Good review, but we all know Vinfast is a joke. I wonder what his review would have been like if it was a Magna product lol. Can't bite the hand that feeds.

Gotta hand it to Kyle though calling them out right to their faces. It has to suck to work for vin fast and hear about how lousy your car is all day long. Honestly the closed course better suited for Fischer price cars was a huge red flag to start with. They have shipped 1K cars for delivery here and they won't even let people drive it any decent amount?

The emperor has no clothes.

True which kind of makes it odd that they need to sponsor some low viewership YouTube channel (unless you have family relationships to pull on). Haven’t seen the sponsor videos for the past few months so maybe they are saving their money.

Fisker was smart to go this route. Magna knows how to make quality cars.

His review of the fisker ocean wasn’t great. He said it was floaty and boring. That said he did compliment the “magna seats.”

Yeah, at one point they're going to have to let people other than tight lipped employees.. you know.. actually drive the car, and on real US roads at speeds in excess of 5mph.
The more they try to keep shielding the car from magazine and YT reviewers driving the car without ride-along company henchmen the more suspicious the press and potential buyers become. Those tactics may work in their homeland, but that shit doesn't fly here.
