Things need to change as these departures from "regular" ICE repair costs will not be accepted by mainstream auto buyers.

Yeah, it’s a new technology…new vehicles….and not all shops are able to repair. The ones that can and are certified are charging crazy high prices to do so.

I expect that to change in the years to come as EVs become more mainstream.

Yes, I get that but he does not have that many subscribers to warrant those kind of expenditures. His wife is always so grumpy on his channel.

So, not trying to stir up an old subject, but I am wondering if you think he just has a friend at Rivian that hooked him up. I can see that happening. And while frustrating because he skipped the line, it is not unusual to leverage a relationship. I would do it. And if it happened Iike that, it would not be because he has a social media presence. Is it possible? Does it matter?

In the video he says "everyone he knows who got a R1 didn't wait in line". That doesn't seem right at all. So it is definitely fishy.

At the time this all went down, there were Rivian employees that indicated there was a non-public Rivian friend and family program. It was never clear that that program explained getting the early price however.

But Kyle was the first person, for whatever reason Rivian gave an R1T for a week. He delivered much needed info and I believe sold a lot of Rivians.

Why do some people find it so shocking that Rivian rewarded him for his efforts? A few of those so outraged still have not taken delivery of a Rivian.

All that said, if you watched Kyle over time, he and his dad have been very clear about their disdain for the governments efforts to support “EV adoption programs” . If I’m not mistaken they do not support NEVI for example. Or $7500 credits. But to my knowledge have never critiqued Tesla’s receipt of same.

None of his video's apply to any vehicle I own, but like you said they're fun to watch because he's such a screwball. I watch when I have a few min to kill as most of his stuff is in the 15-18min range which seems just about right for his presentations.

He actually got his hands on a CT back in July (13min video), he didn't have many good things to say about it.
