Just got out of CS Chat. I asked if there was going to be a merchandise store anytime soon so we can all start representing Rivian anywhere we go. The CS agent said, "Rivian gear is on the way: keep an eye on your email over the coming weeks, we'll be announcing our digital shop soon!"

Hmm, black rims, $3,500. camp stove, $5,000. Rivian windbreaker, $500?

Yes, this is mean, but I'm not impressed with their pricing on anything, yet.

Yeah OKAYEEEE. I'll believe it when I see it. I heard that it was going to be a "very Rivian Christmas" at last years Sept 2019 event in Atlanta and nothing dropped. And that came from a very high up representative of the company. I really feel they have dropped the ball with releasing information and dropping a retail store to the public to help promote the brand........but hell, they are an auto company first....but still.............

Serious merch ideas I might actually go for:
* Compass logo belt buckle, cuff-links, t-shirts, socks, ties (lots and lots of little logos)
* Door flashlights/chargers
* A book of concept art including ideas that didn't make the cut
* Game quality 3D models
* Service manuals

Is this your unofficial store? Notice you posted this in a few completely unrelated threads?
It's like cafe press. Upload your design/logo and they'll put it on merchandise and offer it for sale. This is copyright infringement.

From the website:
Teespring is the leading social commerce platform for creating and selling custom products online. All products are made on demand, so there are no upfront costs or risk involved. Teespring users turn their ideas into 50+ products instantly in the Teespring Launcher. We also offer TeespringGo, an additional service for users who have custom fulfillment and sourcing needs.

We have a whole host of selling tools integrated right into users’ account dashboard, including tech integrations with sites like YouTube, Twitch and Streamlabs and top brand collaborations with companies like Champion. When you get a sale we’ll produce the product, ship it to the buyer, and send you the profit. We’ll even take care of customer support, returns and refunds so you can spend time doing what you love, while we handle the rest.

Not condoning copyright infringement (biconsulting post) but is it really that hard to choose a vendor and throw some logo's on official licensed promo items. Rivian needs to pick up their game here. It's not as if it would detract from final design/ production of auto's, engineers aren't designing hoodies and duffle bags for crying out loud.

It has more to do with changing their tax status than simply “choosing a vendor”.
Not disagreeing but it's still just a possible excuse. 10 year-olds set up companies to sell crap, nobody saying the automotive arm would need/ want to get involved in the sticker business. I don't find it surprising that industrious people would pirate goods with Rivian logo when Rivian won't get it done themselves.
I'm wanting Rivian to become a successful competitor to Tesla and legacy manufactures. Whenever I brag to friends and family about my future electric truck they ALL think CT or the stupid E hummer thing, none of them have heard of Rivian "what's a Rivian, who makes them?" I do think Rivian is underestimating the effect some branded gear would have for the company. I guess what I'm getting at is the cost in resources (time/ effort...) is miniscule compared to the benefits, just one of which is making a few pre-order holders happy.

Heh. People say, “Rivian?”
I show them pictures.
They say, “I need to show this to my partner.”
I say, “Heck yeah!”

Happens every time. Never thought about it but you have a point. People on this forum are doing more marketing than company is doing right now. Granted they can’t fulfill the orders that they already have.

My experience as well that people are very impressed with Rivian after I explain the company and direct them to the website they have never heard of.
