I'm confused why we still don't have a merchandise store. Rivian has been giving new hires a "swag bag" and they apparently have made some one-off stuff that they've sent to people they like. The design work is already done... It's not hard to setup a store and you could even use a vendor for drop-shipping if you don't want to hassle with order fulfillment.

Such a missed opportunity to make fans happy and to get organic marketing.

I asked my Guide about this. He said that they only have 1 basic T-shirt, a jacket, some mugs, and a blanket. That's it.

Oh, he will! We talked at length about the terms "soon", "very soon", and "very, very soon" and how they are viewed in the community. He knows we are frustrated, and the company knows it as well. They see it as an unfortunate side effect to their communication strategy, which is to avoid releasing any information that they may need to back-track on later.

All fair enough. Time to take a step back and come back in a few months id say. Delays are fine just communicate prior to doing so. It was said truck deliveries would start in July but now we are hearing otherwise potentially.

I am 100% on board with everyone else here in that much of the consternation of the community could be quelled by better communication. As others have pointed out, simply ballparking it would do more to manage expectations than a vague "soon" and a lot of beating around the bush.

I do a lot of merchandise design for a living and would love to make some for Rivian, but don't want spend the time making it all only for Rivian to say take it all down
