That picture makes me so sad. No way a 3rd carseat would fit in the middle spot. It looks like less than half the space needed in the center for a seat the size of the ones on the left/right. So much for "accommodate up to three full-size car seats"

On the other hand, my infant might have outgrown the need for a carseat by the time ocean coast R1S begins production. ;-)

You just need to choose your carseats carefully. I can fit 3 across in a Nissan Leaf and a model 3 with the diono rxt.

Perhaps, but that's not what Rivian is advertising. Rivian website says full sized car seats.

Full-sized is not the same as smallest.

Which is also not the same as largest. Plus the one on the drivers side is not as close to the door as it could be (compared to the passenger side one)

The car seats in RJ's car are not particularly huge.

I have a bunch of different models of car seats, including the one RJ's has two of in his car. My car seats range from 18 to 20 in wide. The model in RJ's car is 19 in wide. While certainly not the smallest, it's also not unreasonably large.

I knew my Suburban was going to be much longer than Rivian, but I thought width was supposed to be somewhat similar. Certainly closer to the Suburban in width than a Leaf. Second row in the Suburban could probably fit 22 in wide car seats three across, if car seats that big existed.

Based on the space between those two 19-in wide car seats, I'm skeptical that you could even fit 18 in wide car seats three across. While I do believe 17 in wide car seats do exist, that is certainly as small as they get. And again if you have to use the smallest car seat possible, it's misleading to say that the car fits full sized, car seats.

I really hope I'm wrong and that three car seat across fit comfortably without having to hunt down the absolute smallest models. But based on RJ's picture, it does not look like that will be the case.

is it me or the OC interior doesn't look as good as they render in the online configurator? I feel like the wood is too light colored or something, it's not as clean as I expected i guess.

It depends on what you expect.
I’ve seen it a few times. It’s light grey and so is the wood trim. I think it looks pretty good and makes the cabin look that much more roomy.

I also feel OC is worth waiting for... it makes the R1T look like a million bucks (but only costs under $75K) .

I do wish that there was some sort of an update on it though. Given current deliveries, when they batch production they really do batch production, so I'm hoping once it is in production we'll see a flood of ocean coast.

I wonder how many guys out there are waiting for OC with launch green holding a very old preorder.

I gave up on it. I'd rather have the Tax Credit and I'm not convinced a R1S LE with Ocean Coast will be delivered by 12/31/23. I switched to Launch/Forest Edge and locked yesterday.

- If i had the chance for LG i'd be all over it. I wonder if I ask really nicely if they can get me an unwanted LG vehicle... Honestly I think any interior looks good with LG too.
