I get periods when there seems to be something loose and rattling around in the back of my T. It can be quite annoying. I assumed it was a suspension issue, but also felt like it might have to do with the tail gate. I even put some rubber pads between the tailgate and the transition piece that sit against the tail gate, when closed. Not sure that really does anything. Here is what I discovered and it may help others with similar issues. The other day, as i was once again examining the tailgate, with the tailgate closed, I gave a little nudge on the fender right about even with the tailgate latch. Well darn, it definitely made a very noticeable creaking noise. I smeared a little grease on the latch and, like magic, the noise went away. Now, I donāt hear it anymore, while driving. Such a simple thing. If you are hearing strange noises coming from the back of the truck, give the tailgate some attention.
