Newberry Volcano Oregon Trip Towing "All-Electric" Aliner AMP

FINALLY made it down to the stunning Newberry Volcano area in E. Oregon. Towed our 2024 "all-electric" Aliner AMP trailer from E. Washington to Oregon and back.

Towing miles 821, efficiency 1.34. Used some great charging locations (RAN, Tesla & EVConnect).

Sir Pentinite, our R1T, let us down though, when the power outlets stopped working. But, the AMP performed very well.

Just a couple of inflatable pontoon boats. Photo of mine being hauled by my Bolt.
Have not yet figured out what has happened to the AC power outlets. Have a service ticket submitted and awaiting an appointment to get repaired.

Nice! And I can tell instantly that the first photo is at the Madras, Oregon RAN, I've charged in that stall so many times... :-D

And we also do "all electric camping" in our teardrop - between the large onboard battery with solar panels, an EcoFlow with solar panels, and the Rivian's outlets, we've had no problems. (The EcoFlow is mostly because a couple items have too much startup amperage for the Rivian's outlets, so it acts as a "buffer" since it can handle 18A startup loads no problem while the Rivian trips at 13A for even one second.)

We looked at the NuCamps, but they were a little too small for us. Do they make them with induction stoves and built-in EcoFlow hubs/batteries/solar panels now??

When you say "Rivian trips at 13A" does it start back up on its own after tripping, or do you have to do something to get the outlets to work again?? Ours went out on us when we plugged in the AMP, so I'm wondering if it was a fuse or breaker that tripped it? Outlets won't come on again by just tapping the screen icons. Sure wish I could fix the problem myself. Rivian service has me scheduled way out into February now to fix this problem...bummer!!

I just bought a Bluetti AC180 (1800W with 2700W peak) from Amazon for $500 for exactly this reason. @Lil'O Annie - Just a thought...

the NuCamp is still equipped with propane cooktop, we just don’t use it. (Propane tank has been empty since we bought it.) We use a plug-in induction cooktop instead.

When the Rivian inverter trips, it’s a “software controller breaker” you can/have to turn it back on via the screen. It does turn right back on when you do that - so if yours doesn’t, something’s definitely wrong.
