This looks AWESOME. Much better than my option (MagSafe puck double sided taped to the mat). Quick question… do the pucks stay tightly in the tray (when you lift your phone off the magnet do they risk pulling out?)

With the liner installed:

Rivian R1T R1S NEW - RIVIPARTS Ultimate MagSafe Charging Pad Kit IMG_1282.JPG

I've been a tad too aggressive with making the liner fill the space, so I'll need to adjust the dimensions somewhat. (it wrinkles a bit, as you can tell via the reflection) As soon as I get it right, I'll upload the new STL files.

Also, I've been asked for a wide shot to show it looks in the context of the entire interior. I'll post that soon.

Have you decided on final pricing?
Would like to buy it all in one package but can get my own pucks if you aren’t in a position to supply those
While I have a DIY setup I am really interested in this one because it replaces the factory unit and doesn’t use the usb-c ports and provides a spot for reading glasses 🤓

Yep, I did a bit on this last night. Currently, I'm thinking three different items here:

RIVIPARTS Ultimate MagSafe Charing Pad
~$35 (this may vary somewhat depending on final configuration)
  • 3D Printed Charging Pad Shelf (Black PETG Plastic)
  • 3D Printed Charging Pad Liner (Black TPU Rubber)

Optional - RIVPARTS Ultimate MagSafe Charing Power Kit
$25
A complete DIY package to directly connect to the Rivian wireless charging pad connector, via multiple methods.
  • USB Power Block
  • USB Power Block cabling & double-sided tape
  • Molex connector & shrink wrap for solder connection
  • Terminal block & 3D Printed Terminal block sleeve for the screw-together option

Optional - JSAUX Black & Dark Grey Charing Pads
$40
Two tested and approved changing pads color matched.

This provides options on what you can do. For instance, if you want to use OEM Apple pads and just plug them into the console USB-C ports, you'll be able to pick this up for around $35. If you want the entire kit including the color matched pads, it will be $100.

Does that help a bit?

Rob,

Nice work on the updated model. I'm excited to print it out and try it! Hope it'll show up on Printables soon. As for the optional kit, that seems very much not optional given how excellent it'll be to free up my cable-ridden center console. I'm definitely going to be purchasing that. Do you intend to offer that standalone for those that want to self-print? Thanks!

Absolutely. It might cost a bit more when purchased separately. Maybe $5 or $10 or so.

This is to mainly give myself a bit of a buffer should one go missing in transit or fail. I try to be really, really good about replacements and I'd prefer to not be underwater should folks want to buy these separately and a bad things or two happen.

Also - which direction was the prior liner not quite correct? Port to starboard or bow to stern?

Here is what it looks like in the context of the entire Black Mountain interior:

Just a quick heads up that the updated STL files have been added to the Printables listing. I've kept the old ones there too, should someone want to use them.

Also, I've refactored the liner a bit to fit better, and it's included in the Mk4 listing there. It's also thiccccer to better account for the uneven surface that it needs to install over top. Here is a photo:

This is effectively the final design. I've been debating putting a very subtle decoration in top to continue the line from the top of the center console opening to the plastic and down to the pad mat, but I think I'm going to opt out as simple is better. Thoughts on this are welcome.

I just installed mine, printed last night and today, LOVE it. I did the main bit in PLA and the mat in TPU. Works really well. Will probably reprint in PETG, when I get around to picking some up, but for now its great. Thanks for the work on this!

I am interested in purchasing a plug and play model if/when available.

I announced this earlier to Newsletter subscribers (nearly 600 of you! :)) and I'll post it here as well:

Preorders for this will open on Valentines Day - February 14th

There will be a special pre-order price as well:
  • $35 for the Ultimate Pad Kit
  • $25 for the Power Kit (optional)
  • $20 for a JSAUX Pad (optional - suggested two)
This means that you can be all in for $100 in use the OEM MagSafe charging pad you already have with the kit for only $35. I've been working hard to make this both best kit, and the best value on the market.

Please note that this first batch will be a bit small to ensure everything works as expected. After the first batch is run through, pricing will increase by $5 or so.

Links to the product are up as well:
