I always stop in this placerville area for quick pit stop for family and dog. So excited for this charger! I need to get up there soon and will take pix and share experience.
Would love to see a RAN up on I 5 North. It’s a desert up there before you hit Redding’s EA.
I couldn't agree with you more! I've used both that Tesla SC and the EA and always thought that Placerville would be the ideal place for a RAN. Glad to see that it happened. I'll be using it over MLK weekend.Used the Placerville RAN over the holidays going to/from Lake Tahoe. This is the perfect stopping location from the Bay Area. The site has eight stalls with one set to the side that looks to be for trailers. This site is opposite the Target and it looks like the overall shopping center is expanding. We didn't get into the Food For Less as the Target as a descent grocery section. This station is also right next to the magic dock superchargers...but who needs those when there's a RAN available?
I'll be hard-pressed to visit that EA station in the back to the BofA parking lot that has no bathrooms in downtown Placerville again...
Truth! The Shasta RAN is pushing the limits from the Bay Area, especially with that uphill climb to Shasta.Would love to see a RAN up on I 5 North. It’s a desert up there before you hit Redding’s EA.
Does this site track all compatible superchargers (even those that need a converter), or only the v4 ones that don't need any special converters?
This seems odd. The map is showing the Placerville Rivian charger in the exact location of an existing Tesla Magic Dock charger, that I have used. The map also no longer shows a compatible Tesla charger at this location. What’s the deal? Did Rivian take over the Tesla charger? I doubt it.

Never mind. I went on ABRP and they do show the Placerville RAN charger right next to the Tesla charger. This is a very convenient location, BTW.
Perfect , can’t wait to use the P’Ville location , super convenient .
I'll be spending time near Pismo beach this summer and storing my RV in Paso Robles. I'm hoping the Pismo RAN will be up and running by then. Staying part of the time at a no hook up state park and planning on powering a small refrigerator and TV with the Rivian. Sure would be nice to have a RAN nearby. There is a Tesla SC near there as a lesser alternative. And speaking of California RANs, for those who prefer Hwy 101 over I-5 when doing the NorCal to/from SoCal run, Hwy 101 could use a RAN. Somewhere between King City and Paso Robles would e perfect.
