Hi Everyone!

We’re thrilled to announce our brand-new Rivian wheels! We spent months on this wheel design in-house at MPP – aiming for something motorsport inspired, aerodynamic, functional, and clean. We really love the way these Rivian wheels came out, and hope you do too! These wheels have been getting a ton of attention everywhere we go.

The truck finally looks tough and filled out - something the 21's couldn't pull off. It's also been really nice to see that the efficiency hasn't been as badly affected as we had expected. Surprisingly we were getting over 2.1 mi/kWh at 75mph consistently on a long road trip over the weekend.

A little bit of information about Braid. These aren’t no-name wheels from a questionable factory overseas. Braid Motorsport are leaders in motorsport wheels with a history in Dakar and WRC going back as far as the 1980’s. Braid also supply wheels for Formula E, E-TCR and make prototype wheels for a number of OEMs in Europe. These wheels are expensive, motorsport wheels. By focusing on high quantity and a few target sizes, we’re able to get the price significantly below what custom, made-to-order Braid wheels typically cost.

The wheels are currently available for pre-order, and will be shipping in the fall. Here's the link to all of the details

The specs:
  • Price: $1075 USD per wheel ($975 for early pre-orders)
  • Size: 20x9.5 +46
  • Weight: ~32.5lbs
  • Colors: Bronze, Anthracite or Black (we'll only go to production with 2 of these 3 colors)
  • CNC cut from Forged Billet blanks, made in Spain
  • Knurled beads
  • Back-machined hub face
  • Aero cover mounting holes
  • FEA optimized for strength and weight reduction
  • Load rating: 1200kg
Feel free to visit the website for more details, along with our story about how the wheel was developed along with the design ideas we took forward to make what is, in our opinion, the optimal wheel for the Rivian platform.

Thank you very much everyone for the feedback!

I wish we could do $250 per wheel! The $250 is just a single pre-order deposit to lock in the discount (order qty of 1 is all that is needed to lock in up to 5 wheels at the pre-order price). We'll update the page to add clarity on that as we've been asked a couple of times now!

We have Satin Black wheels here already - but they are for Cybertruck fitment! We'll pull one off the Cybertruck and set it next to the Rivian to give you an idea. Here's a picture of just the black wheel:

Great looking wheel, why so wide though?
Thanks! About the width - it gets a bit technical, but here's a copy-paste on that section from the page:

In addition, we elected to go with a wider wheel rather than Rivian’s quite narrow 8.5″ selection for several reasons:
  • A wider wheel provides enhanced steering response and grip on hard surfaces. As most of us drive our vehicles on paved roads most of the time, this is a win in the majority of use cases.
  • A wider wheel allows us to put more shape into the face of the wheel without needing to change the offset. This effectively means that you have a more substantial-looking wheel (less flat), while also having the aerodynamic benefit of having the center of the tread further inboard compared to a narrower, lower offset wheel.
  • While most believe a narrow wheel is always better for off-roading, a wider wheel does have some advantages. The primary one is that with less side-to-side movement of the tire, it’s easier to hold a line and not have the tire roll over as much as it would on a narrower wheel. This also works to protect the sidewall in certain circumstances.
There are however some downsides to a wider wheel. The primary one is that it is easier to scratch the wheels. So to address that, we have designed bolt-on bead protectors that protect the wheel if you’re navigating over rocks or other hazards that could damage the wheels. It’s also possible that wider wheels will result in de-beading more easily at very low air pressures. We plan on doing some testing to see what the de-bead force required is across different wheel widths and tire pressures. For curiosity!

$250 is the deposit on a pre-order.

Good looking wheels.

Can you still fit a 5th wheel and tire in the tire compartment with this set up on an R1T? That would be a bummer if not.

Are the lug holes big enough to accept the oem Rivian lugs?

Don’t see why not. Tire is same size
