"Dietmeier said Rivian is still working with certification agencies on crash tests, adding the company has yet to decide what will happen to with the remaining pre-production vehicles."

There *could* be a clue here as to why production is not ramping up faster. If crash certification is not yet complete/approved, they may be holding back just in case an engineering redesign would be required.... just a thought.

My 2012 Chevy Volt had a factory recall to reinforce the battery tunnel due to crashed vehicles igniting while sitting in parking lots 1-2 weeks after crashes if the battery was not intentionally discharged after the crash. Not something we want to happen with Rivian. Learn from experience.

That's all fine. Just don't tell everyone vehicles will be delivered in June 2021. Finish everything then get everybody's hope up.

With all the perfect prognostication after the fact I see in these threads, I'm shocked and amazed that we aren't a forum full of bitcoin/microsoft/amazon/tesla/etc/etc/etc millionaires.

What's that - it's only hindsight that is 20/20? Supply chain issues are hard to foresee and hard to quantify ahead of time? Global pandemics can have unintended consequences and side-effects? Amazing.
