I’m in the same boat on seeing a high clearance rear bumper with tire swing out. 👀

Hey @EV Sportline, I placed an order on the 13th and it still hasn't shipped. When I put it in my cart, it said Shipping 2-4 days.

Can I get an update?

Should I worry about dirt, gravel, and salt getting in through the big holes or slots cut into these plates? They seem to have drain plugs as well, why the big slots too? I'm sure the plastic is not completely sealed, but it has complete coverage.

We had a few days with shut down from snow in Atlanta (sorry, city can't handle it) - otherwise should be shipping!

While the factory plastic panel doesn't have holes, it doesn't make the front completely sealed. This AL plate wouldn't make steel components any more corrosion prone.

No, definitely not a concern. Actually an advantage - the slots provide drainage and cooling. The plastic has no way to drain, so whatever gets in with the plastic will stay in.

Corrosion is unrelated to either cover. Expect zero difference in the likelyhood of corrosion on factory Rivian components.

My truck goes into service center in 2 days for front CV axle issues.

Is it worth putting the OEM skid back on so they can't give me any hassle about aftermarket parts? I mean it's the same number of bolts to remove it...

well, I dont see how the plate could matter for CV axle issues....but these nuances relate to the people in your local service center. They would need to 'prove' the plate caused your issue.

I mostly meant them complaining about having to remove it to get access to CV axles/front motor.

I've removed aftermarket parts in the past just in case. A skid plate is innocuous enough to leave it on to see if they say anything...

Always just depends on the mood of the local team, unfortunately.
