Leasing Tesla Model 3 until Rivian R3X comes out.
Kyle felt bad for slamming Rivian recently, so he wanted to make a counter video to talk about some of the positives.

TL;DR: He’s recommending leasing a Gen2 R1T or R1S base model. I think the cheapest one right now is $599 a month!

Thoughts?

I'm not gonna lie - this video rubbed me the wrong way a bit.

What Kyle fails to recognize is that while his critiques and praises are very valid on a technical level, his delivery is extremely biased and sways a lot of people for better or for worse.

I want to keep watching, because he gives technical details nobody else does, but it's getting harder and harder to overlook the biased delivery and tone. The general presentation and feel of a car is just so heavily influenced by how he's feeling that particular day.

His previous video on Gen 2, it was late at night, he was tired and grumpy AND they didn't address the particular thing was important to HIM. So he just railed on it for the entire video to the point that people were turned away from Rivian.

And now that he wants to buy one, suddenly he feels the need to make a video showing that he actually loves it and casually mentions his referral link.

He definitely knows a lot about EV's and is probably the most detailed reviewer in terms of the technical aspects of the vehicle, but he's rude to everyone he rides with (including his wife/girlfriend) and talks over everyone else. Its very off putting.

He's was over the place with installs, reviews, recommendations on Gen1 that just disappear or he flip flops the other way randomly. Exhausting, just living my R1T life figuring it out with other reviewers.

My theory is he loved his Rivian until he got his CyberTruck. He LOVES his CT, mainly BECAUSE of how much hate it gets. If you listen to his video on his CT breaking he talks at length about it. Then again, what doesn't he talk about at length being the grade A blowhard that he is.

Once his CT turned out to be a total piece of shit with the blown motors, tons of service appointments and oil streaked down the side, Rivian became cool again. He's reviews based on his own insecurities and emotions and not objective standards.

Kyle strikes me as the guy who needs you to believe he's tough and cool because of his significant insecurities. Kyle, you gotta build that confidence internally. We can't give it to you. That's why he likes his CT. Seems to be a common personality attracted to CTs.

Actually think he's gotten better with this issue recently.

I think charging curve speeds is still an issue and that really noisy heat pump. Rivian probably threatened to no longer invite him to the cool kids party. This is his way of getting back into their good grace.
