New Driver Invite Bug?? Has anyone seen this, or is it just my account?

I'm trying to send a driver invite. The invite does not get sent to the target email, it comes to MY email address associated with my Rivian account (Yahoo.com). I've done this just once before when I got the Rivian (an invite for my wife) and it worked as expected back then.

I know the definition of insanity (trying the same thing expecting different results), but I tried it several times using my different email addresses at different domains, and I even created a new email alias on one of my Office 365 accounts through Exchange Admin. The invite always comes to the email address on my Rivian account. Clicking on the link in the email logs me into my Rivian account, as you would expect.

I did update the Rivian app as a sanity check, no difference. This seems to be a server side issue.

Has anyone else seen this?

Funny you should ask. I had the idental problem today. I "sent an invitation" to a family member who never received anything. Instead it was sent to me! I then deleted invited and tried again and same thing. And happened again inviting another different user. New bug obvivously

Are you referring to the confirmation email that you indeed intended to send an invite to another user? When I had my truck in the shop last month, they were troubleshooting issues with the app and needed to put another person's phone in as a driver/user/key. I received an email on the email address associated with my Rivian account saying:

"xyz has been invited to become a driver of your Rivian R1T. If you think this was a mistake, please contact the Customer Engagement Center."

yes, the confirmation email that should have gone to the new driver went to me instead. It is a new bug for sure.

Thanks, so at least one other person sees this issue! I'm going to report it.

Anybody else willing to test this by sending an invite to a new email address?

I sent an email with screen shots to Rivian customer service today regarding this issue...

I am getting the actual invite, not a confirmation that I sent an invite.

For the record, this appears identical to the invitation that went to the invited e-mail, not mine, on 2/13/2024 when I first tried this out. The invited e-mail is in the url link off the Accept Invite button.

Looks like it still not fixed. Bug!!!
Yeah, I tried again last night, no luck. I have heard nothing from Rivian since I submitted the problem to them via email.

I have to think that this may not afffect everyone? Otherwise every new vehicle being delivered would experience the same problem when they tried to set up their driver invites?

I got no email response, so I tried a chat today. This issue is resolved. The support person did not explain why I have this problem, but did give me a workaround. It seems they don't want this to be public and with all the scams taking place these days I can understand why - so I am not going to post the solution.

If someone is having this issue, just start a chat and explain that the invite emails are going to your existing account email instead of the new invitee email. For security, they will verify who you are and tell you what to do.
