Personally I'd lump October-->March into one "delay", but it is still a 6 month delay that I doubt is going to be called one.UGH. Another update to my delay tracker was required. I'm getting tired of having to do this.

Where are you located and what is your configuration and when did you order? I’m curious because I’m in NY area and ordered in April 2019. I was also told end of October and now Jan/Feb.I was just told by my Guide today that my new estimated delivery is by the end of February, 2022. Changed from October, 2021. *Supply chain constraints were quoted as the number one contributor.
So far these delays have not been very costly to Rivian (an unavoidable cost they could afford). As other options become more likely to hit the market, that will no longer be the case. Rivian has to capitalize on the fact that they are first. If delivery takes so long that competition starts mass producing, or even just teasing with interesting specs, some of the folks frustrated by the wait may jump ship. Reducation of already low reservation numbers can not be good for them. So I think they will do all they can to deliver as many as they can as fast as they can because quarterly reports and stock price depends on it. You can see how going public helped Tesla's mission creep from saving the world by producing the low cost EV to Maximizing quarterly output and margins. Once you go public, you have to sell.UGH. Another update to my delay tracker was required. I'm getting tired of having to do this.

A few of us were skeptical in Sept/Oct with all the employee deliveries and the brand new instagram accounts trying to look natural. We were 100% right in the end. There were no non-employee deliveries happening at all. And they way Rivian couldn't answer simple questions made it impossible to believe actual production was going to happen soon. 6 month delay sounds about right to fix all of the issues.UGH. For what it's worth, I have spoken to a normal human at rivian who delivers vehicles and he said he has delivered vehicles to non-employees.A few of us were skeptical in Sept/Oct with all the employee deliveries and the brand new instagram accounts trying to look natural. I thought the R1T does not qualify for the 12500 because Rivian is not unionized, am I wrong on that?Hopefully the 12500 credit goes through and we save money?
You are correct. And that isn't actually law yet. Low likelihood that it will pass with it as written.I thought the R1T does not qualify for the 12500 because Rivian is not unionized, am I wrong on that?
I was told the same thing that non employees had gotten delivered. But there are none on ANY social media and almost all the ones we see on social media are pretty new accounts… or just us dying yo get our own. LolFor what it's worth, I have spoken to a normal human at rivian who delivers vehicles and he said he has delivered vehicles to non-employees.
That being said, I'm curious why the vehicles at the Bellevue service center haven't been delivered yet, and who they're going to. Maybe theyre all rivian employees, but if that's the case I had no clue they had that many employees in the region who aren't what I'd call new hires.
He could be technically correct if the deliveries were to former-employees, or spouses of employees. But that seems like a pretty questionable dodging of the truth if that was the case. I'd like to think some non-rivian-affiliated deliveries have happened. For what it's worth, I have spoken to a normal human at rivian who delivers vehicles and he said he has delivered vehicles to non-employees.
Yeah, he seemed very sincere and talking off the cuff. I had a similar idea and he just may not have been aware of it. The whole situation is a little weird. hopefully the january/february deliveries get there's in time and with any major bugs worked out. As impatient as we are to get this, there are at least a couple "wtf were they thinking" decisions with the ID.4 that a beta test would have captured. If they can catch those with these early deliveries *and* respond to them, that would be great. He could be technically correct if the deliveries were to former-employees, or spouses of employees.
