I already asked if this was stackable with the $3,500 loyalty offer and it is not šŸ˜ž. That would have been fairly attractive if it could be stacked. I was considering pulling the trigger on a gen2 and using our Honda Pilot along with my loyalty and the 7500 lease credit but it wasn't to be ...still I love my Gen1. Numbers just aren't working for me to get wife approval ATM.

So back to dreaming I guess.

I was just thinking about this as well. I would love to lease an R1S, but I cannot get the numbers to work for us. Oh well maybe by year end this will change.

2023 Rivian R1S Quad Large, 2007 Volvo XC70
Iā€™ve been waiting for some incentives since early October and was planning to try and buy something by the end of the year. The great lease deals people were getting on Quads this Spring occasionally still do pop up (thereā€™s one in Honolulu right now: https://rivianroamer.com/inventory/23d2f8628c6f1eb5d18e66e99778418f

A couple of weeks ago I saw two others pop up in MA and CA. I tried to purchase this one but alas Rivian wouldnā€™t ship it to Seattle: https://rivianroamer.com/inventory/bef11be7aba63cd6496ce2f181df75ec

Now that Rivian has both the 2.99 APR financing and $3K gas/hybrid deal, I likely would have purchased something this month. I probably would have gotten a Dual Large via a lease (which Iā€™d buy out quickly.)

However, this week a 2023 Quad Large showed up with only 350 miles at CarMax for just $73K

Rivian R1T R1S New $3K Rivian Discount For Owners with Gas/Hybrid Vehicles (Until Nov 30) IMG_3291

Was originally purchased Dec 2023, so it still has over 4 years of drivetrain warranty left and is for all intensive purposes like new. Also has some pricey options

Limestone paint
AT20 Dark Wheels
Underbody Shield

The MSRP was probably right about $99K

Even though itā€™s a Gen 1, I just couldnā€™t pass up the value of having a fully loaded Gen 1 for thousands less than a Gen 2 Dual Standard.

Reserved on Monday and drove it home last night. Iā€™m coming from a 2007 Volvo XC70, so Iā€™m totally blown away by this cutting edge vehicle!

Anyway, for those looking for deals, CarMax is worth keeping an eye on. The manager told me they get a lot of Rivian demos and returned leases. They only price them based on year and mileage, so if a given Rivian has expensive options it doesnā€™t change the price at all which is a great deal for the buyer. Many have very low miles, like this Quad in CA with only 84mi for $76K

I'm honestly furious about the way this incentive was put together. Itā€™s incredibly frustrating that everyoneā€”myself includedā€”who was eagerly waiting for the November Incentives to purchase a Standard RS1 has been completely excluded. Iā€™ll give it one last chance in December, but at this point, it feels like I wonā€™t be getting my first EV after all. Instead, Iā€™ll probably just end up trading in my 2022 Mercedes for a 2025 gas model. Itā€™s baffling that they would exclude such a popular model when the whole company is already a disaster!
I don't think your anger will affect RJ much, @InfraMan. But it might affect you.

You can wait calmly, or you can wait angrily, or you can buy quickly, or you can buy something else. You have lots of choices.

We got fairly good deals on our Rivians. Some people got better deals, and some got worse ones. We are content with the deals we got.

If you are willing to wait, @InfraMan, a good deal on what you want will likely come your way. And if you buy now, you will have a great vehicle that much sooner.

Very best wishes!

Unless they have a dramatic increase in sales from this 3k incentive I expect Rivian to be more aggressive in Decemberā€¦assuming they want to get numbers up.

I saw a statā€¦have to look for it nowā€¦that said Rivian sold 37k vehicle thus far in 2024 and that their sales were up 3.4% YOY.

not sure how much inventory Rivian has but they need more incentives or better lease terms.

To me, with the current market conditions, more folks will probably lease so while the 2.9 for 60mo is good itā€™s still not enough. The average new car buyer does a 72mo note.

Cheap leases will move inventory. Folks are scared of depreciation right now and leasing eases the fears of depreciation and new car maker troubles. Itā€™s easier for someone when they know what they are paying and are only committing for 2-3 yrs.

just my two cents

as time goes on, I think I might wait another round of vehicle purchases before going full electric.
so tempting, but there's nothing I like on the market yet and I'm a relatively low-budget low-tech car buyer.

I really like the R3. Not sure it's for me yet and it likely won't be for sale in Quebec by the time I finally turn in my Mazda3.

I really hope both Rivian and Lucid pull through these next few years! I really love their product development.

I received my NACS adapter opt-in email in April and have yet to receive an adapter or a shipping confirmation email. Since then I have purchased a second Rivian and havenā€™t received anything: which is expected, as theyā€™re deprioritizing second adapters to multi-car owners (even though I take two cars on road trips). I bought my first Rivian in 2022 but I traded it in for another Rivian which I think puts me near the end of the line (stupidly). Rivianā€™s interest in you drops off markedly after they get your money.
I bit the bullet and just ordered from the Gear Shop. I received it in less than a week. I couldnā€™t take the pain of waiting many months šŸ˜Š.

Riv promised the comp NACS in January 2025 for Sept deliveries but who knows what that really mean. I found it strange that I still have to opt-in to receive a comp NACS.

Months laterā€¦ Riv will probably confirm shipping address ā€¦then will probably ask again if you really really want a free nacs ā€¦then etc, etc. šŸ˜

So my shop order tri-motor arrives here in Honolulu in about a month or so. I pulled the tigger three weeks ago. Paperwork executed but I have not funded the lease yet. Any suggestions on what to do, if anything, regarding this incentive? I feel like they should apply it to my deal as I could still theoretically cancel and buy again from the shopā€¦.

Have to say Iā€™m a bit annoyed.
Literally pulled the trigger on my 2025 R1T Max on Tuesday 29th and finished all the digital paperwork on Friday 1st. Picked up vehicle this past Saturday on the 2nd.
Just sent an email asking if somehow they will honor the 3k so fingers-crossedā€¦but not getting my hopes up.

Where are you seeing the 2.99% financing? I thought that ended on 9/30. I'm debating between the lease with almost immediate buy out or just financing from the get go. If 2.99% still exists my decision will be harder...

Annoying to lose out on the $3k. Hard to time a market. I am one of those on the fence about when to order. $3k is good, there might be better deals in December. However, better deals might be on configurations that are less desirable.

Might as well enjoy the new ride.

the ad for the 2.99% deal is right on Rivianā€™s home page. If you go here youā€™ll see all the vechiles that apply:

https://rivian.com/configurations/l...PE=NEW_VEHICLE_CONFIG&BAT=BAT-A01&MOT=MOT-210

If you look at the financing quotes for any of those vehicles, youā€™ll see an APR of 2.99% for the 48 or 60 month loans.
