I've never had such a convenient place to carry crossbars as the Rivian Gear Tunnel. However, due to their shape and weight, it's hard to get them in and out if you have other stuff in there. I keep a short ladder and a mountain bike pad in the tunnel, and the crossbar feet get stuck in nooks and crannies. They're heavy enough where it's hard to maneuver the far foot around the obstacles. I picked up this Gator 58" Speaker Stand Bag and it fits just about perfectly. (Also comes in a 2-compartment version that in retrospect might have been better.) It's slightly loose and a little too long for just the crossbars, but it's almost exactly the full length for the gear tunnel. The bars now slide really smoothly over everything.
